Lo que la gente dice
We arrived at Yudanaka Station within the pick-up timeframe, went to the info desk and they called the hotel for us which was a great help. They arrived within 5 minutes to collect us. We were greeted with a welcome tea and mochi and showed to our room. Room was amazing, really authentic, spacious and clean. The hostess kindly showed us the correct way to wear our robe and left us to settle in. You get a key to all 9 of the onsen in the town which were all in walking distance and there is also . todo comentarios »
Having spent 3 weeks travelling around Japan, my highlight of the trip was my 2 nights in Senshinkan Matsuya.
The owners were so helpful and friendly, picking me up from the train station, driving me to the monkey park (a great experience by the way) and dropping me back to the station the morning I left.
During my stay I was lucky enough to opt for a traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner which were both superb.
Shibu Onsen itself is a wonderful place with 9 public bath houses which are fun.
A very traditional inn in the traditional area Yudanaka Shibu Onsen. The inn has been in the family for many generations and the current owners are very professional, organised and welcoming and Keiko has been practicing her English for quite sometime and able to provide helpful information to those of us who haven't learned to speak Japanese. Great food with a beautifully presented traditional breakfast. A small spa on location but right next to one of the best spas in the cobbled streets of .
We had such a relaxing time soaking in the many baths in Shibu Onsen...the one right at the ryokan being the nicest of all! The futons and down comforters were cozy and comfortable...innkeepers were accommodating and a pleasure to meet...the ride to the entrance to the monkey park and luggage service to the station made he logistics of our stay so easy...what a relief! The ryokan lived up to our expectations based on reviews such as his one and the service was beyond excellent! A gem of a place.
English speaking host who are very friendly. Half board included was a fantastic experience. Location is near the free onsen which are highlights of the village. Hotel in-house onsen is also good. Host offered to send guests to the snow monkey park & bring baggages to cafe near Yudanaka station for checkout guests who can directly return after snow monkey visit.
Female host was most friendly and welcoming. Their onsen was probably the nicest compared to the public baths, as it was all wood, and also offered soap, shampoo facilities. Their dinner was fabulous - about 12 small items/ portions, each different, delicious and beautifully presented. Worth trying this kind of dinner at least once during your vacation.
Owners very nice they pickup to/fro yudanaka stn and to monkey park by car. They speak English rooms are large and clean as is their private onsen. Best value for money accommodation in shibu onsen town. I'd pick this place every time unless it was a honeymoon, then I'd pick kanaguya(?) the big expensive one.
Fantastic place! Pick up from station, drop off at station, drives to monkey park! Staff were very friendly and always helpful. People here are all very friendly. Will def come back. Two thumbs up!.
Great service, excellent breakfast and dinner and perfect location in Shibu Onsen. Totomi and Keiko were great hosts and very friendly. They even let us have a private onsen for our honeymoon.

lovely hotel and owner, nice onsen.thanks so much to keiko and tomi, you are very nice hotel owner.
the owner is very nice and well english speaking. the room is tidy and very japanese style.
Free pickup from the train station. Free drop off every morning at the monkey park.
all stuff so helpful, breakfast so nice, surrounding area so beautiful,.
Excellent onsen, very helpful hosts.
Superb food, wonderful hosts.
Great location. Nice staff.
The owner Mrs Keiko is one of the most charming persons I could meet.she spent a lot of time to fix a schedule for me and brought me back to the station personally. The hotel hotspring is much better than the public run down onsen...The food was OK but expected some more quality sometimes considdered the price...
Key given to allow access to local onsens.
Depending what room you book or the floor you are on you may need to use a squat toilet...which can be awkward for some particularly in the middle of the night. This is somewhat made up for by the genuine character of the place. If it's a concern you could mention preference when booking.
Nothing I can think of.
Nothing to complain about given the price / value. If you want a nicer, fancier ryokan with softer beds and nicer baths you'll have to pay more.
Nothing. All was great!.
nothing.
no toilet in room.
-.
No private bathing facility.
The general condition of the ryokan needs to be refurbished...the used dishes and cups are really out of date.
Not much food options in area.
