Great great place to say!!!! It was a very clean and quiet japanese
style house. The price was fair enough!!! The hosts were very friendly
and kind. On the same day I left the guesthouse, I had to come back to
the guesthouse from the airport because i've left something
important there. The host kindly let me stay that one night for free. So
clean. Good price. Quiet. Nice place. I would definitely go back!!!.
Amazing staff, the owner and his wife were wonderful hosts!
The hostel is an old traditional house. i would have staid in the common/reception room forever. it was so nice.1 min walk to the Naramachi area which is the best part of Nara! wonderful traditional small alleys and restaurant and very close to restaurants and the temples park, all walking distance.
Almost everything!
1. Super amazing interior design! Our room has sliding doors opening to the top view of the 1st floor...
2. Very clean and well-managed!
3. Great owners! They speak decent English and were very helpful~ There's a collection of travel tips and brochures available to guests!
4. Very peaceful neighbourhood!.
It was a rather special experience to stay in such a fantastic historical japanese merchand house. The owner Mr Shunju's warm hospitality shows not only on his face but also through the tiny details of the settings and fixture of the guest house. I'll surely revisit it when I go to Nara again.
The two owners, a man and a woman, are honestly the two nicest people I have ever had the privilege of meeting. They were so helpful and accomodating, and made us feel so welcome and at home. The house itself is very cozy, and we got to know the other guesthouse residents very well。.
Excellent value for money, the hostel is situated near the sightseeing and you can borrow a bycicle.
You manage to have some privacy in the room even thanks to the curtain around the bed.
Really nice and helpful staff.
Nice place with great friendly English speaking owners. The location is
just 5 minutes walk from the old city of Nara and 10min from the Nara
Park. The Tatami mats with the futons are comfortable and clean.
I stayed only one night but i really liked the place. It s very relaxing and quiet. And the couple that run the guesthouse is very warming and attentive. Not very center but with bicycle it s no problem.
Atomosphere, owner and facilities are all so good. Also, this guesthouse is not so nosiy and the owner is quite kind. It is highly recommendable if you experience traditional Japanrse style gusethouse.
It's a very interesting hostel, a historical building, which is perfect for someone like the history of Nara. The owner parents are very kind and helpful and you will love the close atmosphere.
The private room we had was beautiful, the owners (and our fellow
guests) were so helpful -- don't forget to rent bikes and eat lunch
at the neighbor's 'pancake' restaurant. Oishi!.
The guesthouse Naramachi provided us as a Japanese style resident, clean and near super market. The owners are friendly and hospitality and they speak english very well.
The atmosphere there is really nice. The owner gave us useful tips about the city & prices. I can recommend it to everybody.
I stayed in the private room and it was beautiful~! A bit of walk to the main area but perfectly fine if you are riding a bike.
Friendly and helpfull owners, they helped me a lot in the planning of my trip. When I came there, my bed was already made!.
Very pleasant stay nice couple running a warm house with different experiences. Very close to the railway station.
Nice cosy place. Cool owners who know a lot and try to help you. Close to station. You can rent a bike.
very nice place: the large room is very confortable, calm, well decorated, nice people.
The owners were lovely and the bunks were very private with the big curtains.
Staff's commitment to provide info and ensure guests needs.
The host is very friendly and he holds rafting as well.
Run by a wonderful couple who are extremely helpful.
good location, good prices
warm athmosphere.
Setting - a traditional Japanese 'machiya'.
cleanliness, friendly stuff.
Very friendly and helpful owners. The husband speaks good English and gave us some great tips. Amongst others, to watch the sunset high up in Nara Park.
You can bring your own food, there's a fridge, a microwave and a toaster.
Great budget hotel if you don't mind sharing the bathroom, which is downstairs...It is 15 minutes away from main attractions.
The location is great, the staff is very helpful and welcoming. The place is clean.
Nice boss, and historical house.
Hosts are kind.
- The room is only for sleep!
- rooms are upstairs and toilets/batgrooms is downstairs, shared (very clean indeed)
- tea, coffee, boiler, microwave, fridge, all is shared in the common area (not bad actually! but not in the room as you would be expecting after travelling a while in japan)
NOT BAD things actually! this place has a magic atmosphere and you will like to stay in the common area, speaking and knowing other guests and owner couple.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing.
The walls are maid of paper and there is no real privecy.
Location may be disadvantageous. It is not close to neither Kintestu nor JR Nara stations.
From Kyobate station (just 1 stop next to JR Nara station), it is quite close, 5 min. walk.
However, bicycle can be a good help to move in Nara. Nara, unlike Kyoto and Osaka, is a small city.
All the fault was on the terrible letsbookhotel.com map. It mis-locate the hotel in Naramachi district instead of the actual address. It took us more than one hour taking our luggages west and east in the same road fighting for the actual direction. Only after finding the police station that we finally arrived at it.
It's rather hard to find the guesthouse position.
Share bathroom, depends on others if that does not work out. Bikes are rather small. Thin typical walls.
Not enough sinks to share.
We had the 'master bedroom': a beautiful tatami room but with no privacy at all. It was next to the communal room and dhower, sink and toilet were shared. I think the room was overpriced for that level of comfort.
The nearest train station is not the main one in Nara so you will have to change trains at Nara station and wait for the next one..
check in time which is at 4pm, dorms are separated by curtains and are quite small. Only one shower...
Our room is near the living room, so we couldn't sleep untill everyone came back ;).
No lockable door for a room.
lack of privacy
all the rules
difficult at a certain age.
