  My husband and I went to Bovino to visit the town where my husband's grandfather was born. His grandfather emigrated to the US from Bovino in 1903. We were also looking for possible family. Bovino is a hilltop town where the local people are so friendly and warm. We felt at home immediately in this little town of about 4,000 people. Most of the ... lo que la gente dice » people speak little English so it is helpful to speak some Italian. However, we had no problem communicating with the people with our English. There - A woman who works for Antonio met us past our scheduled check-in time of 10pm and showed us the room. We had the room with the view, and it lived up to its name. Through the large window, we could see most of Bovino and the beautiful hills and valleys of the surrounding area. The fresco on the wall was a peaceful touch to the room. Bovino itself is a quiet little town that nevertheless has excellent shops, especially for bread, meat, and cheese.
