There are woodland walk just outside the doorstep of the cottage, there is well priced food in the visitors centre, but we only self catered so cant comment on quality etc. These cottages were - The cottages have been renovated since the last time we stayed there a few years ago. We had a three bedroomed cottage (Copney) which also had three bathrooms, which was great for us as we also had friends from the US at the cottages with us. The cottage was really well equipped - the only thing we couldn't find that we needed was a garlic crusher but we improvised! - with spotlessly clean bedding and plenty of fluffy towels.
