We were hesitant to book because there were almost no reviews, but
we're glad we did. It turned out that the reason was it had only
been open a month.
The hosts were extremely accommodating. They did their best to make sure we had everything we (and our young daughter) needed.

It was such an amazing stay! The house feels so homey. it is beautifully built and decorated, with many thoughtful details. It was by far the most memorable place we stayed at in Iceland. The couple who owns it is very nice and kind. The wife cooked us a tasteful breakfast even though we were the only guests staying there that night. This is definitely a great choice for travelers!

We stayed at the Hotel Vestmannaeyjar for 3 days and it was absolutely amazing! First of all we had booked a basic double bedroom but we soon found out that the owners had given us one of the suites, as it was available. Moreover, the owners were lovely and helpful people! This is our second stay at Hotel Vestmannaeyjar in two years and we hope to go back again. The owner, Magnus, is such a nice person. He keeps us coming back along with the fact that we love Heimaey.

My dad and I visited Iceland in October of 2006. We'd originally intended to just drive through the country and find accommodations when we felt like we needed them. The location was a 5 minute walk to the restaurants, and away from any noise. The price was very reasonable for the 3-bed self-contained apartment. Breakfast cost extra, but was generous and had a good variety. Wi-fi was included and worked very well. The apartment was comfortable and spacious - good size bathroom, lounge, dining, kitchenett and bedroom. The lady was very lovely and helpful. There was on-site parking. I highly recommend this for a relaxing stay.

This was the best place we have booked in our 7 nights in Iceland. The landlord was funny and he prepared a very good breakfast with waffles and fish based food.He was a nice company. Hotel Manager Jon and staff made sure that we were comfortable. The
food choice and preparation for us was awesome since we were the only
couple that evening having dinner. The hotel is in winter operation,
thus visitors have dropped off. Jon exchanged culture info with us.
Made many suggestions as to where to visit Icelandic historical sites
nearby. Gave a very informative talk on the geological activity in the
region. The hotel room was very comfortable with plenty of hot water.

The guesthouse was incredible!! We loved the location. It is situated in a very nice neighborhood that is conveniently located a block from the pool facilities. And the pool recreation center was incredible after spending the day hiking! The owners were wonderful to deal with, very helpful and accommodating. Definitely purchase the breakfast ~

My friend and I were upgraded as a very generous courtesy to a four-bedroom apartment with a private deck larger than my own home. It felt like a palace after the small rooms we'd been staying in for the previous week. The view was (is) beautiful, the apartment luxurious, and the staff professional and kind. On our final morning, we settled the account after breakfast and then stayed for as long as possible, reading and enjoying the quiet.

This is a fabulous guesthouse. The owner could not do enough for us including booking restaurants and giving advice about activities in the area. The guesthouse was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We would highly recommend the Fagrahlid Guesthouse. Its proximity to the Eyjafjallajokull volcano and to the south coast sights is great.
