This is a youth hostel but it is 5 star. The place was immaculate. I
have stayed in Hiltons all over the world. This accommodation is up
there with any of them. Reasonably priced. We stayed here for Schalke v
Chelsea game on the 22nd October 2013 for 3 nights. 10 min walk to
Bochum main railway station then 17 mins on train to the veltins arena.

i like everything about it. I arrived there after I booked single room with a shared bathroom but they gave me one double decker room with a shower in it. it's a youth hostel in name but its more like a hotel. It's very clean, modern and spacious. The general decor is tasteful and it's quiet. It has 7 floors. I was very surprised by this hotel! I was attending a conference and all hotels were fully booked in Cologne so the only fair option was this hotel. I was expecting a terrible hostel but actually I got a nice and spacious room with a view to the cathedral!!! The room was simple but very clean with a comfortable shower and wc. I highly recommend if you want a great location in Koln for a very good price. Staff was great, breakfast simple. The building is also new. Ask for room 703!

When we arrived at the hostel (dec 8) we were met in a very friendly way by a blond guy. He is a great host! We felt welcome. I was together with my daughter and we found the hostel excellent. Close to center and on the border of a nice little lake. -
