Slightly quirky but absolutely loved this B&B. The lady who owns the house is delightful as is her daughter who speaks good English. The house is a grand late nineteenth century town house with large rooms and plenty of old characterful family furniture and heirlooms. Our room which was large with a huge and fascinating bathroom was very comfortable with a lovely wooden floor. It overlooked the street which was fortunately quiet with little traffic. Secure parking in the driveway is availab.
todo comentarios » Old house with high ceilings, enourmous bathroom, antique furniture, fireplaces in every room, feels like you're in a small castle. Giant clawfoot bath in room 1 is amazing, can't help feeling like a queen. Owner of the house extremely friendly, delicious breakfast, she or her daughter prepare it themselves. It's more like a B&B, I think they have only 4 rooms. It doesn't feel like a hotel, it feels like you came for a visit to someone's house. Even a proper hirdryer, perfume and shower gel. Old building with very nice french style decoration, comfortable and romantic. We lived in the room beside garden, easy to move big baggage and walk into the garden. It should be more comforatble in Summer. The breakfast was very good, beatiful table and dining room. The hostess is a elegance woman, she let us visit her building. Even she speaked little English but we still can communicate. I will stay if can back to Troyes and also strong recommend to others. Like stepping back in time in this lovely old town house filled with family memorabilia of a life gone by. The guest rooms were very tastefully refurbished with top quality modern facilities. Felt very much like home and the mother/daughter management couldn't do enough for you. Great breakfast with all home made ingredients. Would definitely recommend and go back. The position in relation to the old town was perfect - a short walk. The building being older was charming with a typical French homely feel to it. Having modern facilities brought it up to date by offering every convenience. We felt the staff were most attentive and helpful. A very enjoyable stay - one we would recommend to others. Room 1 was a lovely traditional style with a fabulous bathroom. The house is beautiful and breakfast was nice. We were made to feel very welcome and it is only a short walk to the centre of Troyes so the location is excellent and the off-road parking very handy. Very convenient to centre of town just five mins walk. Parking a bit tight but good to have. The accommodation is in a chambre d'hote. Room very large and decorated tastefully with a blend of old and new. Generous beautifully presented breakfast. L'Abroise is a wonderful oasis in a charming and historic town. The hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated with taste and in the original form dating back a couple of centuries. The breakfast, with home-made bread and jams, are excellent. Awesome! Very friendly and helpful lady at the reception, large room and bath, very clean, cozy. Good location, just 10 minutes walk to the central square. Available private parking (free), but there were lot of space on public parking too. Great stop off point for journey to south of France. Excellent hostess (and Maman). Very comfortable room with everything you could need and lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, breads and homemade preserves. Would definitely recommend. The hotel was in a good location. L'Ambroise is a quaint, homely residence and just 5 minutes walk from Troyes' magnificent, old centre. Complimentary car parking and breakfast meant our 2 day stay was easy on the wallet. Our apartment was spacious. The hotel was quaint and charming. The staff were helpful. It was a 5 minute walk into the centre of town. Troyes is a nice town. Nothing. /. Nothing!. Room 4, while nice, was separate from the main house and attached to the garage. This meant that we were separated from our children by more distance than we had anticipated. To reach us at night they would have had to come outside of the (locked) house. People with younger children may need to check exactly where their rooms are at the time of booking. On a busy street so a bit noisy. Toilet behind a partition in the room. Nothing, although my son was mildly inconvenienced when he had to go to main reception area for wifi to work!. Parking limited so car shuffling had to take place when wanting to leave. No air conditioning in our bedroom.Outside daytime temp had been over 30 degrees so the bedroom was to warm a fan would have helped. This was the only negative. Wi fi not brilliant on top floor. Nothing to dislike. small and for us not so important detail: but Wifi was not working properly... Secure parking in sequence so departing meant involving everyone in moving. Didnt realise it was a Chambre d'hote and had to pay cash but this really wasn't a problem. Would definitely stay here again. Morning car shuffle was a slight irritation. A little too expensive for a guest house, it's a good 10-15 minute walk from restaurants and town centre - but a really nice place. nothing. The owner doesn't speak English. This wasn't too bad though for me as I could understand French and speak a little but for non-French speakers, this could be a problem. Good be tricky to find with no sat nav. The slight problem was language as we Speek little French and the host little English, but this just made the stay more interesting. No issues. Nothing. nothing to report. Stairs were steep if you had mobility problems. Nothing. Would like to stay longer , !. Stairs to the top floor. Nothing. our bed had very soft mattress sound proofing non existant but still slept as very quiet when we stayed in april 20. Our room wasn't made up after our first night and towels weren't changed. Privacy was a concern due to the lack of curtains and large windows in the bathroom. With schools nearby there was much more traffic and noise than we expected. Despite my efforts I couldn't get the wi-fi to work and staff were unable to assist. The bath has very high sides and with wet feet on polished parquetry floors could cause a fall. We chose to wash instead!. The hotel didn't take credit cards and could only pay by cash. This was not made clear on the web site, I would suggest that should make it clear or have cash with you. Bedroom in the garden with open bathroom area.
