Owner ( family owned since 1600s) was great host, took pre-dinner drinks witrh us and gave a potted histiry of Manoir. Went foe walk round grounds and their old dog came too. Needs all thge support they can get to keep the place riunning. Lots of imporovements already and more in hand provided clients keep booking. -

We have never encountered this sort of accommodation before (a pull down bed from the wall) but it proved basic but acceptable and we were able to keep our bicycles inside the glass vestibule. The owner lent us a kettle and a toaster.

Our original booking was two days, we extended to three then continued our journey. We returned three days later as we could not find any other hotel that offered the ambience and quality of service as Le Chateau de L'Abbaye.

It was ideal for our trip. We have a mobile home just 30 minutes away & stay for 2 days in the area so we can prepare our mobile home for the summer & close it in the autumn We shall be staying at this hotel 2 - 3 times every year. It was central for everything. Shops,market, walks by the sea. Quite delightful ! -
