The view from my bedroom window was beautiful! I had a double bed and a private bathroom and the whole atmosphere in the room was cozy and warm, excellent last night's stay in Paris. There was 24hr service and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of french speaking channels on the television and a nice breakfast to start the morning. The bathroom was very clean and had towels and all the facilities you could wish for one nights stay in Montmartre.
In fact, upon arrival, I did not like the area, but we discover that we were 20 sec from the metro station, so that became a big plus.
The people at the hotel were great, they did the best they could to make us feel good. We arrived at night one evening and since we were with a 2year old, they let us use the breakfast room and the microwave , so I think that for the money we spend it is more than fair, also breakfast included, also a good point. Good beds, clean.
The location is perfect, just a few metres away from Gare du Nord train station which makes it easy to travel around Paris. The staff was very friendy and speak english which makes it a blessing, considering no one speaks english in france! Rooms are not big, but they're comfy and always clean. On the last day they gave us a bottle of juice and chocolate as a thank you, something small but it makes the experience at the hotel more special.
I returned to the hotel Altona for a second time with a group of 28 12 yr olds and three teachers. The hotel is brilliant value especially since the recent improvements. There are now flat screen TVs in the rooms free internet in the lobby and lots of redecoration. Most importantly the staff are kindness itself and the atmosphere is very welcoming. There is a traditional boulangerie next door and a late night minimart opposite.
It was very pleasent to stay at Altona Hotel.
Every one of the hotel staff was so kind, benevolent and every thing was ok, especially after the first night, with the support of the hotel staff, receive an extrabed for our babies.
The breakfast was very consistent, good coffee to remove the sleep.
The hotel is situated in a quiet area, close to the subway, a minimarket near the hotel, good for families with children.
It was really near at the Metro station, the staff was super friendly and rooms were very clean espeacially for the price. The bathroom was completley new, and the rest was in a very good condtion, too. Breakfast was good, but they had no ham or cheese, just croissants (if that is important to anyone).
All in all it was a really nice Hotel, totally worth its money!.
Thank you Altona for your hospitality! We very enjoyed staying with you!
Your service was just great as well as room and breakfast! Two brother
on the reception are the best! Very custom oriented and very polite! We
will definitely recommend this hotel to all of our friends and will come
backwe have a chance! Thank you again!.
The location just 100meters from metro Barbes Rechuchoart and the back
side of Gare du Nord. The Breakfast just basic but very nice croissant,
orange and cereal plus the tea n coffee. The french staff very kind and
efficient. Ive stayed here 2 time and will come again. Halal food is
just 10meters from the hotel door.
I can't complain about this hotel, the staffs were nice esp the guy from Chile( I can't remember his name), he was really nice. The location is good coz it is near Gare du nurd as well as access to buses and the metro. The hotel was clean too.If ever I go to Paris again I will definitely stay with Hotel Altona.
Nice staff, close to the metro ( 2 min by walk) and train station Gare du Nord( to go from there by RER to CDG airport)
Quite big room , but shower room needs renovation, typical french breakfast, elevator and was possible to leave luggage in the hotel after check-out. Good price for accomodation in Paris.
We enjoy our stay in this hotel. The staffs (accueil) are very
professional and friendly. Location is one of the best, close to metro,
Gare du Nord, shoppings etc. Best value for money. I definitely would
stay again. A very recommended to all my friends & family.
Very friendly staff, very welcoming. I stayed with a young child and the staff did everything to help. It is right by the metro and 5 mins walk to Gard du Nord so very easily accessible. Would highly recommend and would stay here if I came to Paris again.
What a great little gem. 10-15 minute walk from Sacre-Couer and Moulin Rouge.Loved the little balcony. 5 minute walk to the train station Barbes Rochechouart and this takes you straight into central Paris. For the price we paid it was fantastic.
Room was basic but very clean. Everything in working order and comfortable. Continental breakfast was lovely each morning. Staff very friendly. Location excellent as only a short walk to nearest metro station.
Although the reception area was a little chaotic, the staff were helpful. The room was very adequate for a cheap hotel in the middle of Paris and it was accessible to many places. Would stay there again.
The hotel was clean warm and cosy staff very helpful and freindly, even waited up for us after a late night out.
It was ran in a very french way which some peolpe would not understand, but we did.
Great position, close to Gare du Nord, and a minute from closest Metro station. Breakfast was really good. Loved having a room with a balcony. Launderette and supermarket really close.
being able to leave our cases at 8-30 am after travelling overnight from nice and know they would be looked after while we was sightseeing in paris also the staff where friendly.
Excellent location near to Monmartre and to the metro station. Free wi-fi connection, TV, heating and breakfast (only the basics) included. In a few words "value for money".
Nice hotel with good easy location. Only request that breakfast should be provided earlier upon earlier arrangement as some tourists pl to leave early for day-tours and vi.
Very courteous and helpful staff, clean bathrooms, proximity to the
metro station[around 1 mnt walk], breakfast spread was not very big but
it was filling.
My third stay at Altona, walked in the door and was greeted by name. A few blocks from Gare du Nord, gateway to everything. Clean and friendly.
The staff helped my wife to stay calm when we got lost. They helped her to phone and e-mail us to get hold of us. Thank you Altona.
It had a good location
the place was very comfort and clean
the relation price/quality was good
I would definitely recommend it.
Great staff, only one block from metro lines 2 and 4, comfortable beds and clean linens, few but very good breakfast options.
WI-FI free in the rooms. Hospitality. 50mts to the metro Barbés-Rochechuart (L2 y 4) Behind Gare du Nord, and Sacre Coer.
It is near from Gare du Nord Dtation and you have acces from all lines
of metro and train.Staffs are nice and friendly.
The hotel was in a good location. It was very clean and tidy. The en suite shower was amazing. I would stay here again.
They gave me a bigger room than the one I booked, and the twins at lobby speak perfectly English, Spanish and French!.
Really friendly people, nice breakfast, near subway stations and the North and East train stations. Nice price.
Friendly Staff, good loacation, super tasty brakfast. This hotel is excellent place to stay in Paris.
Close to metro . Comfy. Not big rooms but good enough as not therewith. Typical breakfast for Europe.

Good location, good breackfast, ceap hotel, very clean.
The Staff were very helpful. Good value for Paris.
-it is close to Gare du Nord
-brekfast included.
Cleanness, near the metropolitan and Monmartre.
Location is great. And breakfast is fine too.
Friendly staff and charming environment.
1. The luggage storage corner. Seems insecure because it is just beside
the water dispenser in the hotel lobby.
2. The receiptionist (white guy) was a bit impatient when I had more questions to ask. Nevertheless, he answered everything and cleared my doubts.
The only bad thing was that most of the lights in my room did not have lightbulbs in them. The bathroom had one and there was a small bedlamp. Also, there was an unfolded blanket in my wardrobe.
The zone the hotel is located in is not great, but you move in and out of the metro and it is ok.
Nothing major. Breakfast wasn't big, crossant and a baguette and some cereal. Small but tasty :).
The area is a bit run down and grubby but at no time did we feel alarmed or threatened. It' s city life.
Everything is okay. Value for money. I dont demand.
Hotel located in train station area.
Probably just a fridge in the room would have been nice. We had some water and coke we would have liked to keep cold, but that would be the only thing.
A little expensive for a 2* hotel but then again this was expected really with regards to location.
Bit more choice for breakfast, few more selection on cereals, may be some fruit.
The room was quite small and not soundproof.
Rooms were slightly small.
they were in remodelation so it was a little messy but nothing iportant.
We did not like the street ,there were lots of "weird" people
on the street near the hotel ,we were quite scared to went out or to go
for walk in the night, and its said in the description of the roooms that
its soundproof room ,it was not true! We heard everything whats was
happening outside and on the floor where our room at there were groups
of loud guests they started making noise at 7am!.
Nothing it was all good :).
The breakfast isn't even American breakfast... It's French breakfast... Just bread, coffe, butter and jelly....
Everything is old, but it is Paris. You won't find nothing better for this price.
A little noisy at night but not to bad it is Paris after all.
Some of the room decor was a bit tired.
A little expensive for the location.
No minibar in the room.
Even though the rooms were spacious for 2 people, Interiors of the room was bad and there was bad odour in room no 18. I was staying in room no 18 and my parents were staying in room no 40.
None.
Staff was vierd...but ok.
It is a bit old but for the price is ok.
Lack of space.
We book room for four but at the arivall we get two double room.
