The family who run Tavo House are some of the nicest people I have ever met! They will help you in any way they can and become your best friend while doing it. While I was there they were trying out a "Free Tour" optional activity which involved setting me up with a local to take me on a personalized tour of their favourite part of the city. A truly fantastic place to stay!. The owner and his wife were so kind and considerate. When he discovered I was learning Korean, he tried his best to encourage me to speak and even brought me to his local cafe for a meal, where nobody spoke English. His wife made the most wonderful breakfasts on both of the days I was there. If I ever travel to Gyeongju again, this is the house I would choose to stay in.

Free city tour, abundant information materials on the city, pleasant homecooked korean breakfast, bikes....o, and very importantly, ease of access by public transportation. If you are staying at Tavo house, you are staying with a Korean family which is great! They are very nice, friendly and hospitable people! You can get a real expereince of Kore by living there. I liked it a lot and recommend it!. I like the design of the room and it is very comfortable. The hospitality of the owner for bringing us around the city in the morning before they left for work. Breakfast also in prepared in Korean style. Very nice.. There are not a lot of places to stay right in the town, so this house is very convenient. It is charming and the people are lovely. You are staying in their house, but the owners seem to not be around much. The family is very nice and friendly and will go a long way to help you. Bike are also available. Please keep in mind that this is not a hotel and you are entering a family home. If you want to stay in a good location, with good price and being treated as family by the pension's owner, Tavo house is the place! By the way, the Korean breakfast was delicious!. Everything was cozy. I was really satisfied with ownser's kindness and service. I'm sure that he room was so much better than other guest house, and reasonable price. Excellent helpful host. the friendly staff. - Hosts are very friendly and helpful (despite little English). The mom makes diverse Korean breakfast, and the dad took us on a short tour of local historic attractions on a weekend morning. - Several good restaurants within walking distance; ask the hosts. The house owner was so nice, but his wife wasn'T. Nothing. At all. Place is a little bit out of the way. The location could be better...closer to the city center. But really, that's being very choosey, since I didn't think that the city center was all that great, and this historical area was still quite a distance from the center. The bathroom is outside the room and shared with other guesthouse. I would like to have a kettle and cups for making tea and coffee. Do not expect the privacy and the comfort of a hotel. Bathroom is shared. -All guests in all 2-3 rooms share one toilet/bathroom (and it was downstairs while our room was upstairs) - Although the room was very clean, this was not the case with the shared bathroom. The room has a damp weird smell and the house owner's wife was trying to control the house too much when staying there. Felt a bit uncomfortable.
