Customer service at Pension Polaris was exceptional! Our host, Mr. Noh, spoke some Englsih, which was really helpful. He offered to pick us up at the Visitors' Information Center when we arrived at Gyeongju, gave us a quick tour in his car, showed us how to get around town by bus, and even took us to the supermarket. The somewhat hidden pension was not easy to locate as every house looked quite the same and our Korean was limited. The nearest bus stop was 5 minutes away only, though we definate.
all reviews » Owner personally greeted us when we checked in. He speaks English very well. He sat with us with a map and gave us the rundown of the most efficient way to see the sites, since we were on a tight schedule. He also gave us instruction sheets on how to get to the major attractions (and back to the pension from said locations), with addresses in Korean so you could show taxi drivers. Room was cozy, clean and uniquely decorated (lots of bright colors!). Kitchenette was useful, bathroom was standard. This really quaint and adorable accommodation has individually designed rooms, all of which have different interior decors - all very bright, playful and well, cute! Rooms are spacious and well equipped too. It's quite a distance from the city centre but it's extremely convenient because there are direct buses which take you there. It's really tranquil at night. Great place to take your mind off the daily grind. The icing on the cake is really the proprietor's hospitality and thoughtfulness. Mr. The service was perfect. The the Hotel keeper speaks good english and is always there to help you for what you need. He can tell you how to go anywhere by using the Bus and the best places to visit. He can recommend you restaurant, reserve and bring you there. It's amazing you feel like you have a butler at home. The rooms are in very good conditions and you have enough space. The Polaris Pension is only 2 minutes walk to the bus station which brings you directly to most important places to. Polaris Pension is a colourful fairy tale of a place. It is clean and comfortable, ideally situated for peaceful isolation and cty visits. Mr Noh goes out of his way to ensure the comfort of his guests and their awareness of the attractions in the surrounding area. Transport possibilities to get them there are clearly set out.. Matthew Noh speaks English which of course is helpful but kindness and care translates into any language. Breakfast is beautifully presented - a joy to eat while sur. We had the pink coloured Venus room (first floor of the blue house) - Room is very big and clean - Excellent view from balcony - Lovely garden - Safe neighbourhood - One very good Korean restaurant only 2 min walk from pension (offers 2 extensive set menu for around W15000 each!) - Close to bus stop - Window in the bathroom - Airco works very good - Strong wifi - Kitchenette - Free laundry service - Free pick up from bus stop and free drop off at train station - Last but not least: the owner. We stayed for 2 nights at Polaris Pension. The owner, Mr Noh and his wife are very attentive. The family room that we stayed in quite well maintained. Mr Noh picked us from the train station and to my surprise, he was already waiting for us at the train station when our train arrived at the station. He provided us with a lot of useful information on how we should plan our itinerary to maixmise our time at Gyeongju. He even helped us to made reservation and order the food (as we wanted n. We went there after reading the comments. And we wasn't disappointed. It was so good. The place is really quiet, and the decoration is so cute. We feel like if we were inside of a Kpop music video. So cute. But the best of all was the attention. The owner went himself to pick up us to the station, and gave detailed tourist info. It was really helpful. He was so nice that when we forgot something in the hotel, he went to the bus terminal to give it to us. Our stay was short, but make us to go th. The owner is a kind, thoughtful person with a good command of English. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is quite big by Korean standards. The settings are wonderful, the landscape is both beautiful and restful. Best of all is the owners friendliness and willingness to help. He helps you plan your stay and when you have questions he helps you. On our first day he drove us to the supermarket and helps us where he can. We had four wonderful days in this pension. A real joy to stay h. This is a great Bed and Breakfast guest house! The owner, Matthew Noh was so very helpful with travel and/or sightseeing arrangements and speaks good English as well. Nothing was to much trouble for him. A nice breakfast was delivered to your room (at 08.00). Having wi-fi in the room was also appreciated. Bus stops are close by, but the next time I stay (and I will) I would probably opt for a hire car. You will remember the colours in the room for ever! Good value for money. The house was very clean and comfortable. The owner, Mr. Noh, is very hospitable and friendly. Helpfull owner, nice colourfull houses with terrace, good location if you have a car. everything is good. The toilet flushed slow and we had to get a pump for it. The bathroom smelled a bit funny when we checked in, but by the time we checked out two days later that smell had disappeared (we suspect that maybe the smell was from the heavy rain/typhoon that hit the area a day before we arrived). At the Bus station is all written in Korean and also in the bus. Ask the Hotel keeper to write you down where you want to go and show it to the driver so then he can tell you when to get off. Make sure you have change to pay the Bus because with big bills it my not be able to give you change. . My stay was too short. - The noise of frogs(?) at night when you open the windows/balcony door, but you'll get used to it very quick. After all, that's the charm of the countryside :-). - No hair dryer in the room, but we surely know that when you ask Mr Noh he will bring it to the room personaly :-). The only thing we have as small critique; its a little bit noisy when you have a cabin with also someone above you. But this was not a big deal for us. Only a very minor point, there is very little storage space for clothes unless you use the kitchen or your suitcase. Just one small chest of drawers would make this the perfect place. Bed are not so comfortable. The pension is a bit far from downtown; nevertheless, it's close to the main attractions, and it's well connected by bus. Not much of a complaint, but the mattress cover was a little uncomfortable, like a thick pad instead of a fitted sheet. Also, the restaurant the owner recommended where he ordered the set menu for us is a good example of local food which is great for tourists, but as a picky eater, I would have preferred to look at the menu first. A free 2-way shuttle service from Bulguksa Station is available for all guests. The free pick-up service from Bulguksa Station require an advance reservation. When booking for extra persons, guests will have to pay an additional charge of KRW20000 per person, per night. A maximum of 2 extra guests is allowed for all room types except the Villa.
