  The Inn was surprisingly exciting, different, homely and very memorable. We felt we were really in Hawaii, not just another hotel or resort. Irene was very interesting, warm and friendly. She was very generous with her time, information about the area and booked a lava walk tour for us. It's a motherly touch that a large resort cannot replicated (which I stayed at before arriving at Lava Tree). It's something so small as that that can change your entire vacation and make it bettter.   A fantastic location (enhanced by our free up grade to an ocean view room - right on the beach with the sunrise in our window). Staff were great and the new introduction of a free continental breakfast was a great way to start the day. Why pay top dollar when you can stay in such a great place as The Islander ? - We were lucky enough to be upgraded to room 208. This a one bedroom suite above the lobby, that weirdly enough comes with it's own dedicated car space. It was a great room...spotless, well designed, had a great view of the ocean, and a comfortable bed. We only stayed two nights, and wished we could have stayed longer. For us, this hotel was far better than the Marriott Courtyard, which is located in the same area.

  Free shuttle to and from airport is great. Our room was neat and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Liked the fact that there was a laundry room on our floor ( we did one load of wash), and for future reference noted the microwave, empty refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. Also liked that there was a stamp machine and an atm machine available. Seems like a lot of - We stayed for one night before continuing on with our vacation. Loved the size of the hotel, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, nice room, lovely pool area. Enjoyed walking in the area and going to Byron's. We would definately stay here again and will highly recommend it to our friends. We walked thru the Best Western but preferred your hotel, less busy and more personal and friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  Maui is a beautiful small island and Kahului is conveniently located to explore the many sites it has to offer or get on exiting tours. The hotel has an excellent activity desk that helps book tours/shuttles and advises which sites to visit. Very affordable and the setting was very nice. Should I ever visit Maui again I will be sure to stay at Maui beach hotel.
