-This dormitory is situated in Manhattan, Chinatown, very close to public transport and cheap restaurants.
-The rooms are just big enough for a normal bed (zirka 200*90 cm)
-The price is unbeatable in Manhattan
-You have your separate area unlike many other dorm-type
-The large floor is divided to approx 70 rooms by thin wooden walls. You need to imagine it a bit like 70 cloth shop type changing rooms with lockable doors. So the rooms have no ceilings for fire safety, just like in changing room. όλα τα σχόλια »
I liked Spencer, the guy at the front desk. He was always helpful and
polite. And also one of the guys that cleaned, I think is his brother,
because they looked similar. The place is definitely what you pay for,
which is cheap, and that's the point.
I got to sleep more easily than I thought I would. I slept well. The bathrooms seemed clean and at least one was always available. A towel, soap and other toiletries are provided. The price was great for NYC.
Clean, restful, good location, friendly and helpful staff, social and
friendly guests, plenty bathroom/shower availability, no wait time,
wifi access.
In the heart of Chinatown but only 2 blocks to Little Italy. Just a short walk to the subway. Clean and quiet!!.
The peace and quiet. And the tv in my room worked! It was worth it.
Like very low price in ny usa.
Staff and cleanliness.
Location and quiet.
good rooms.
Location.
Cortesy. I stayed for just one night, and overall the place was clean and safe, regardless with others reviews. The front desk was amicable and respond positive to my requests. . Free TV and WiFi. Cheap. hot water. private. .
I like the fact I can sleep alone in an enclosed space relatively
undisturbed. I like the unbeatable price and the 24-hour check-in. I
like the staff being lenient about my hour-late check-out (my 3rd stay
there). There are lots of places to eat nearby.
The hotel is good for an overnight stay. Our bed and room were satisfactory as was the rest of the personnel. We were out all day and only went to the room to sleep. The price and location were the best.
Great location in Chinatown and little Italy. Walking distance to city
hall, 911 memorial, Brooklyn bridge etc. many cheap and tasty restaurant
around here. Friendly receptionist.
the paired bedrooms may have been small but it was actually clean i didn't see a single roach either.
Kind staffs;
Convenient location for Chinese travellers;
Good choice at this price.
The price. An item was left in the room. It was where I said. I went
and got it.
It's good if prefer to save money with hotel and spend more in the city.
located in the main market, suitable for small budget, free wi fi.
Prett much the only place in NYC where prices are not exorbitant.
it is fine if you don't have much luggage. I liked the staff.
Price like a hostel but with a private room.
free computer use
location
clean bathroom.
Absolutely the price and the position.
location
my room had a small sink.
The location is good,convenient.
Reasonable, Decent accomodation.
Price, location, met my purposes.
The price and location.
Localization. room was clean-sheets and towels also, there were even slippers for one person.Very good location-near subway.
Great if you want to live the life of a chinese illegal immigrant in New
York at the beginning of the XXth century.
Very low price, but next time I'd rather look for a place in the Bronx.
No, seriously if you are OK with sleeping in a closet, the place is great.
the only thing i liked it was the fact that was close to SoHo..... and to the School i had to go for the course .... absolutely nothing else!!!! "Bigger Room" ok for the money... but a closet is missing!!!.
Nothig...Maybe reception staff was kind and helpfull, lokation is not bed. But it is dormitory...If you can not room ar appartment short time you can sleep there one, two nights no more.
nothing, maybe price but the money wasn t worth it, it was a really dirty place with bed bugs and other insects, dont go there, spend more money on better place than this..
For only one night, it's ok you get there some tiny soap :)), some
kind of shampoo, and a towel . If you're very tired and you must
sleep, it's ok .
If you only want the hotel to sleep, it is a good place to go. The location is really good and it is the cheapest hotel in Manhattan.
A great bakery on corner Hester st and Elizabeth st. They kept our bags
for some days for free. Free boiled water.
I thought the place was ok. For the kind of neighborhood the price was good.
It was cheap, you get what you pay for, wifi, and the attendant was nice.
Location near subway station (Granx St and Bowery St).
Location it's not so bad. Staff good.
Good location, not far from subway.
I enjoyed the economical price.
Close to train subway.
-You would need earplugs and face mask if you are not a good sleeper since due to thin walls and lack of ceiling, it can be sometimes loud if someone is snorking or set an alarm early in the morning. Just like in a dormitory.
-You would need some water resistant sleepers for the bathroom since the floor is often wet
-The dorm was not extremely clean, but was also too bad for me, but I have experience with camping...
They charge the entire stay on the credit card before you get there,
which isn't clear right off the bat on the bookings.com website. If
each hotel has different policies for the way they charge a credit card,
it should be made as clear and obvious as possible. I didn't like
the other guys that were sometimes at the front desk.
Well, it's noisy and you have to be prepared to wear ear-plugs or do what I did and wear earphones with white noise or music all night. The rooms are bascially cubicles with no ceiling. You are really in a large room with 50 other people but with the privacy of walls and a door to around your bed.
Some noise after 11 pm. People talking to loud, door closing, people
stomping down the hallway late, no windows, but hallway window was open
for fresh air, so just left door open if fresh air is needed.
Very small rooms, about the size of a closet.
There was no toilette tissue in the rest rooms.
Sleeping bed is very small.
Some water leakage issues in the bathrooms.
Sharing bathrooms.
It was dirty and there were some insects in bathrooms.
Nothing. The room was small but confortable. Still you can listen through walls other people snoring. It was a little uncomfortable, but I guess once you fell asleep you don't hear it anymore. One of the bathrooms would often have water on the floor after people showering. WiFi cut out/didn't work a lot of the time. Found 2 or 3 nasty bugs in my room O_o. the "semi-private" rooms are super-tiny!!!
maybe 6'x10' -- fits a single bed and
I would rather call them cubicles -- to be honest.
I don't like walking up 5 flights of stairs. I don't like the
cleanliness of the bathroom facilities, but I have travelled
worldwide and seen far worse. For a seasoned traveler on a budget,
Sun Bright is a fair deal. I felt safe there and learned more about
Chinatown in the bargain.
We were a group of 14 people traveling together and the person who checked us in was annoyed and unpleasant even though we had the print-out of our reservations.
The bathroom and towels really need to improve on cleanliness.
5Th floor for semi-private. It looks like a small box without coverage,
so you will hear everything, it likes you sleep in a big room estimate
roommate around 50 people. If you roommate does not considerate, you
will not be able to sleep all night. You must walk pass 3rd-4th floor
where are not the same hotel, scary environment.
lack of climate control in rooms.
Rooms are very small. No room service. Mattresses need to be replaced.
Half of the TVs don't work. There are no lights except the ceiling
light. There is no place to hang up clothes.
no lift facility, not very clean.
The price is still pretty high compare to Europe and what you get isn't really a nice place.
there isn't elevator and the rooms are kind of small.
The room are cleans but the shared restrooms are not.
two floor walk up
unfriendly at desk
long walk to bathroom
rather ugly.
The bathroom could be cleaner.
two floor walk up
distance to the bathrooms.
The room is so small. I have not live the hotel like this. But It is cheap.
only 3 channels on TV.
The filthy bathrooms, the "free-sex" graffiti all over the bathrooms, the bright lights on all night, the scary 3rd and 4th floors that you pass to get to the 5th floor.
The room.
Forgot to mention in my last review, the internet can work poorly. Apparently, the bandwidth is limited, so when many people connect at the same time (i.e. in the evening) the connection can be dauntingly slow.room is too small, shared bathroom is dirty.
Absolute lack of privacy (you can hear other people breathing). The
"room" is incredibly small: there is a bed and a foot of
space. There is no roof and lights are always on. Air conditioning is
noisy and people will start getting up at 5 am. If you have sleeping
problems, avoid at all cost.
You may find small cockroaches so I suggest to close your bags.
Smaller Room on higher floors looks like chicken cages.... no room for a small luggage if you in bed!!!! Tv's not working, fans very noisy, linen stained and smelly!!!!.
Stairs... no elevator, 5 th floor that stairs it is terrible, room like a closet in prison. Bed linen is durty. Your neighbors maybe whoever. And they talkig and maybe very noizy all of the time.
bed bugs, dirty place, noise.
- Location : Chinatown. Stinks too much there .
- rooms are very small, no ceiling
- common bathrooms
- the staff doesn't know decent english .
- we had check-out at 11 but from 7AM it was very noisy because of the man who cleans the rooms and I couldn't sleep well .
If you want to spend more time in the hotel than only sleeping there, you better keep looking for other options.
Rooms are very small, some of them have no windows. You hear your
neighbors very good. Shared bathroom, on the floor. They refused just
print a couple of papers!.
I thought it could be a give a little more because the hotel is located in a trendy neighborhood.
It's a hostel and I had no idea that it was a hostel until I got
there, the way it is described online is not the way it looks, the
bathrooms are disgusting because you share it with the entire hall,
which is not a problem if they were properly taken care of, the towls
were firsty, no wash cloths, tv's are old and outdated and if you
plan on sleeping in don't bother!.
Dirty and smelly bathroom..no elevator since my room located at 5th floor..avoid this hotel if possible.
Bathroom is dirty all the time, bad smell in the third and fourth floor.
There was so noisy! They had a road works all night just under our window and we heard everything! It was terrible, the window is very difficult to close and administrator didn't help the girl, despite the asking.
The room is very small and weird-looking.
The hostel accommodations. While it was not necessarily to staffs fault, but the fellow guest, the bathrooms were horrific.I could go into detail, but I chose to digress.
If you like to feel like you were in jail then this is the place.
Internet only on first floor not on higher floors, ac didn't work
one night very uncomfortable. You get what you pay for, literally.
