This was our second stay at the East Village this summer and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is very convenient, as transit can be accessed by 5-10 minute walk. Also, the rooms themselves have a modern feel and are maintained very well (very clean!). We also loved the fact that it has kitchenette (with fridge). We will definitely stay here again in the future!.
The room was very well designed,u got kitchen and pans and bathroom and iron, big windows towards the street, cable tv 24 hours.Location is great, room is very clean, many good stuffs around.1 stop from brooklin but located in Manhatten, which is safer and closer to both side.No keys needed, only code, which is convenient. Not cheap, but absolutely not expensive.όλα τα σχόλια »
Great place in an excellent location. 5 mins to subway, excellent eating close by, close to soho and Greenwich, very safe area, freedom to come and go 24hrs, magic coffee shop on door step - would recommend the fruit smoothies! Comfortable warm rooms, easy travel to uptown, midtown and downtown Manhattan. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Great location. East Village is safe and interesting. Code at front door and to room. Doorman present during the day.
Small rooms with kitchenette and flat TV. Otherwise no infrastructure.
Perfect, if you just need a clean and inexpensive room where the action is.
Walk to Astor Pl. subway 10 min. and to Washington Sq. 15 min.
Everything! I loved the look and feel of the hotel and the rooms. I
also loved that it didn't feel like a typical hotel. And being a
frequent nyc traveler it was nice to be able to come and go in the
hotel at your leisure and do your own thing without feeling as though
people are watching.
The location is awesome for staying in the trendy East Village. I have
stayed a few times and am amazed that the rooms are a quite as they are
considering the East Village noise! The rooms are done very nicely and
are alsways very clean.
The East Village Hotel is a great place to stay if you want to explore lower Manhattan and get the feel of the East Village neighborhood. The staff was flexible and friendly. We liked that it was simple, no-frills and clean.
Great location in the fun East Village. Great coffe shop attached to the hotel. The hotel is very nicely renovated and is pretty darn quiet for the East Village! Very comfortable beds and very clean.
East village was an excellent place to stay for our first trip to New York. It's central to everything and walking distance to anywhere. You feel safe the whole time and the rooms are very homely.
This is so clean, modern, hardwood floors, kitchenette, comfy bed, great tv,
restful oasis in the city...complete with The Bean coffee shop next door with
the best granola bars in America...
Very nice, clean, well-located great value hotel for NYC! It was reasonably quiet, given that it is on a busy street corner. New heater/air unit was super quiet. Nice kitchen.
Perfect for a young couple in a great area. I have already recommended it and would look to stay there again.
Extremely clean and good sized space, much better than a hotel.
the staff was super friendly, room was clean and had a nice kitchenette, the location was nice with everything you would need withing walking distance.
The room was perfect for what you need when visiting NYC. Small, but had all the essentials for our stay. Bathroom was nice and bed was comfortable.
lovely cozy hotel, clean.the kitchen is my favorite!feeling like living in an aprtment in NYC. lots of vintage and second hand clothes shops around.
Great location, nicely designed minimalist rooms, clean, comfortable, modern--great place to stay if you want to make some of your own food.
I liked the location (corner of 1st Ave. And 9th Strs), the kitchenette
and cooking for myself, and it was close to my conference at nyu.
the hotel had an excellent location, was recently refurbished, very clean and decoration was very nice!! Would stay again!!.
Location, lay-out of apt, space, light, staff very accommodating, lots of good places to eat inc coffee place downstairs.
nice little kitchen in the room
prime location with on street parking made the hotel a real score
great central location.
We really enjoy our stay here, it's perfect, we have exactly what we needed and its location is te best to move around!!!.
room had everything I needed and it was in my favorite neighborhood
simple check in and no key.
Location was great. It was very clean and modern. The room made good use of space.
Rooms lovely. Ample space and superb location in terms of restaurants and shopping.
Includes kitchen, nice TV with good Cable service, excellent bed and pillows.
The hotel was great fun and unique. Great kitchen area for size if room.
Great location, comfortable bed, kitchenette, free wifi, clean.
loved location, clean room, convenience of mini kitchen.
The rooms were great and comfortable and well cleaned.
It gave you a feeling of actually living in the city.

*great vibe
*great location
*felt very safe.
location
modern feel
independance.
Nice kitchenette. Great location.
its like your own apartment.
location, new, cleanliness.
The cost of the hotel.
full kitchen-fridge-.
Clean, comfortable.
Staying at this hotel was very much like living in an apartment in nyc.
It had a small kitchenette and the location was close to a grocery
store, coffee shop, subway, and many restaurants.
In the famous Est Village, close to restaurants, pubs aand markets.
Great location. Room equipped with kitchen and dishwasher.
Little boutique hotel with comfortable and clean rooms, good flat screen
tv, nice kitchenette. Rooms as described on website.
Have almost everything that we needed to stay for a couple of days.
Great location. Central to lots of restaurants and touristy things.
Cleanliness, In Room Kitchen, Style.
simple ,clean ,good location.
Cool hotel
Great location.
- A late check-out was no problem (normal it's 11 am)
- friendly and helpfull staff
- comforatble bed.
east village nice area.
Good location.
We had a minor issue with the water in the shower as we could not figure out why there was no hot water (apparently the facet is reversed so turning the tap to cold actually gives you hot water).
The day I checked in I arrived late, nobody was there for me, if I don't have a cell phone, I won't be able to call the customer service and ask for help.Just remember to have a mobile with u.Air conditioning was very noisy, when I use it I can't hear the TV or my phone at the same time. But I don't have problems falling asleep,so it is not a big deal.
Aircon noisy at times but can be switched off.
No breakfast. Beans downstairs is not an option. Get breakfast at the "Mud" , up 9th St. towards Astor Pl - 5 min.
I would say my only complaint was that the cable in my room wasn't
working for the duration of my trip, but it didn't really matter
because I wasn't in the room all that much and who needs a tv when
you have nyc at your disposal?! Also, some people might not like the
fact that it's a walk-up and that there are no elevators.
Water pressure was low this time and it took a long time to have warm
water. I dont remember having that problem before. The hotel does not
have an elevator and this time I had a heavy suitcase to haul up and was
on the fourth floor. The room was nice and cool, but the hallway was
very warm and the trip up the stairs was not so fun! You don't
really ahve much support int he way of staff because of the nature of
the hotel, but I am lucky that I know the area very well.
The price seemed high for a no-frills hotel. There was a lot of noise from the street on the 1st Ave side of the hotel.
As it is located on top of a fabulous coffee shop 'the bean' if you are situated on the first floor you do hear the music they play through the night/ early hours of the morning.
Not a thing!.
The hotel should warn you that there is no staff at front desk and that you need a code to open the front door and your room BEFORE you get to the hotel. Why not send front door code and room code to guests first? Other than this, great stay.
a little noisy but it's NY, and a little far from the Metro (13 minute walk.).
It was noisy and the air con was even noisier. But nothing too much to complain about.
Need to wait for quite a long time to have hot water to take a shower:(.
Low water pressure and the water doesn't get that hot. It's a walk-up, which is fine so long as you're expecting it.
No elevator, staff members were helpful, when they were there, and hotel
rates on the Internet, do not reflect real price of hotel room (bait and
switch), problems with the tv.
There weren' anybody at the reception desk during the daytime, just couple hours in the afternoon. If you have any question or you needed anything you have to call to an emergencie number what wasn't good at all!!.
Nothing we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!! Would come back in a New York minute.
I could at times hear the people in the next room
room was a bit snug - lots of squeezing past partner. a fold up or fold away bed would have work better in such a tight space
outside noise was so loud I thought the window was actually open -- though I love the noise of the city, others may be turned off by this.
It's a little expensive, you don't have the common hotel services and the price is about the same than others that does.
I have to say the noise of the traffic and people outside was pretty bad. I know, however, this is to be expected when you're right on the corner of a busy intersection!.
All the rooms on the first floor run above the Bean coffee shop. This opens at six am and closes between twelve and 2am. Although you can't hear the coffee shop itself what you get is their music blasting up through your floor boards. Very very loud and I was not able to sleep at all until they moved my room up a level. A real shame as everything else great.
No hair dryer, wash cloth,.
No legitimate way to hang up clothes.
Noisy outside until late well past midnight.
a little noisy between floors on occassion.
Lack of service. Even a friendly face at reception would have been nice and someone to say good morning. When I arrived in the pouring rain no-one was there to let me in and no one answering the phone. I then had to take a taxi to my daughter and went back to the hotel later. No apologies or explanation.
Lack of staff during the hours advertised that staff would be available, the stairs were awful, especially to try and drag your luggage up, water pressure in the shower could've been better.
no elevator, unfriendly staffs.
*there was no shampoo or caffeinated coffee
*very noisy (could hear everything from adjoining room).
not being able to speak to staff at the hotel prior to arrival.
Took some effort to check in but ok.
the coffee.
waiting for staff to show up to check out/in.
not enough pillows.
Can hear music from rooms next door.
Part-time lobby staff -- very little help available. The shower water
did not warm up -- we mentioned this every day of our 5-day stay but it
was not fixed.
Staff lacking. There wasn't a table inside the room, so it was very
unconfortable eating. The room was very small.
Hardly saw any staff on-sight all week, other than cleaning staff.
Rarely anyone at front desk. Had to phone off-sight customer service
number to check-in, answer any questions.
Not sufficient hot water in the shower. Heater fan quite noisy.
The room had a very unpleasant smell. Getting some action from staff to deal with this was very slow and not terribly effective. Dissapointing.
Noisy, Bed/Pillows Uncomfortable, Only Part-Time On-Site Staff.
shower has got its problem. Hot shower i at between off and cold tap. At hot is extremely cold. until u fifugure out u almost check out . I informed the taff sh sid yes it is wrong installed fom bad plumber.Bad sleeping because of poor sound proof wall.
Extreme loud by night
Relatively expensive.
- very noisy airco
- cold water in shower (1 of 2 x)
- no elevator
- not best price/quality ratio.
there was very cold in the room. there was only air conditioning to warm it up but it was very noisy. Also very noisy because of the close to firts avenue.
No help for the check in tv did not work Heating/AC was a problem No
room clean up on sunday Nobody in lobby after 3pm, so noone to check on
our luggage the day of our departure.
