From the moment I set foot in hotel and greeted by front desk staff, it was a welcoming experience. I had just flown in from Sydney and arrived at 1pm at hotel and was able to book in before normal book-in time. The "vibe" is one of friendly, quiet and relaxing. The breakfast is a healthy one with yogurts and fresh fruit and breads and juices and coffee and pastries and WiFi and greatly appreciated the Courtesy van service and called upon it on several or more occasions when wanting to return t.
όλα τα σχόλια » Rooms were well appointed and very comfortable and public spaces, though somewhat smaller than larger hotels were pleasing and quite comfortable. Amenities which included 24/7 coffee and beverage service were very much appreciated. The breakfast was both delicious and "homey." Throughout my stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel, although far from the beach, is situated in a very convenient location. I would definitely stay there again!. I understand a renovation is upcoming so that'll be fixed. Room #315 Welcome feeling 5: the property is lovely and staff very friendly. My husband and I liked everything about The Ambrose. It has the feeling of a European boutique hotel with courteous staff, lovely location close to the water and all the other fun things that Santa Monica offers, and comfortable, stylish accommodations. Our room had a balcony and outdoor patio - both with a view of the Pacific. We couldn't have been happier and will definitely be back. It's a lovely hotel with a sense of design that is pretty, serene, comfortable and friendly. The lounge area with breakfast invites cordiality and meeting new people. While not exactly at the beach, it is close enough. The staff were very professional but also warm. Free underground parking didn't hurt, either!. There was an employee at the front desk who was sooo resourceful. I have three examples of how she went above and beyond, but I will spare you the details. I think her name was Sheena. She really made our trip there a memorable one. Friendly efficient check in, wonderful beds, delicious complimentary breakfast, parking directly outside, staff very helpful & fantastic quiet location. Would not think of staying anywhere else when staying in Santa Monica. The location was perfect for us, within walking distance to grocery, restaurants and family. Parking was invaluable, breakfast was lovely. Room was spacious, bed and bedding were luxurious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Affordable location in Santa Monica compared to closer hotels near the beach . Great included continental breakfast . Excellent free wifi & free secure parking . All important when traveling on a budget. The staff was extremely caring and attentive. I wish I remembered the name of the staff person who helped us a lot. Overall, great service! Love the fact that you provide shuttle to downtown :) Great hotel!. Gorgeous hotel. You could leave your car in their underground lot and they shuttled you to sites. We felt like we were being spoiled and satying in a luxury hotel. Breakfast was awesome and healthy. Everyone was so nice. Front desk was extremely helpful, driver was so friendly, housekeeping staff was lovely. Rooms were excellent - great location. Really didn't want to leave after 4 nights!. It was cozy without being small and/or cramped. Comfortable beds. Excellent service and very decent room service food. The complimentary breakfast breads and pastries are outstanding. Every day a decent breakfeast - beside other things they served fresh strawberries and even a plain jogurt, something hard to encounter in breakfast´s menus in USA. I liked the size, the free parking, the free shuttle service, the comfortable room size, the room service, the breakfasts, the quiet, fitness center, dvd player. The staff was great. For some reason the upgraded us for free to the best room in the hotel. Two balconies and a view. Beautiful bathroom. And late checkout!. Beautiful asian spa themed decor, small and intimate, excellent scones for breakfast in lobby, location near everything but not crazy. The staff (Sheena is so nice !!),room bigger than I thought,with a great view :-) ,big bathroom;the shuttle to the cities atractions. The hotel was well designed and looked great with lots of dark wood and well chosen accessories. The room was spacious and clean. Very tranquil with excellent staff, definitely a great spot for relaxation. Convenient to the greater Santa Monica area. Friendly staff and easy parking in garage underground. Given the fact my family and I was doing the marathon I appreciated the morning breakfast and shuttle service. Modern but not sterile, lots of character. Friendly staff. all round excellent experience. Rooms on the 20th Street side of the hotel tend to be a little noisy due to traffic. This was not much of a problem, but rooms facing the rear of the hotel are probably quieter. The lighting could use an upgrade - the room and especially the bathroom were a little dark. No dislikes at all. We had no complaints. We thought the snacks in the room where complimentary. Oops! And it's the first time I ever paid $4 for a can of Pepsi. My wife and I got a good laugh out of it!. Bedroom &bathroom lights too dull. Our room (405) was above the alleyway, and the delivery trucks were quite noisy very early in the morning. Our next stay we will request a room over the courtyard. We will be back!. Noisy back alley if your room is at the rear. One front desk man was very abrupt and dismissive when we first arrived. I felt he was quite rude and a stark contrast to everyone else there. It's great to be able to open the windows and let the fresh cool breezes in, but when closed, the small gaps at the bottom of the frames need to be sealed to keep out traffic sounds. the seating arrangements for breakfast were awkward and we felt uncomfortable. A great place which could be an amazing place but the facilities are just a little tired. Like elevators and bathrooms. Shower and tub fixtures. Mishmash of exposed plumbing under vanity. Easy things to fix like that. Just needs a little refreshing. But I would definitely would stay again if the price were right. Also think parking should be free. Horribly soft bet almost like "water bet", if one makes a move, the other person is shakened significantly. Slightly dated and in some places needs a touch up, but this would not put me off coming back. need coffeemakers/tea makers in room, sound of toilet flushing, old TVs, no closets. You can hear everything going on in the hallways. The windows when closed dont allow outside noise but we could even hear the clicking of flip flops so loud it woke us up. Somewhat dark and dated, but comfortable bed and good sized room. The packet of crisps in the room was Overdate by 2 months!!. They started charging $20 a night for parking (it was free when I booked the room). The hair dryer;no breakfast. The breakfast was lovely but not enough space for people to sit. Walls are somewhat thin and you can hear significant street noise from within. Old TV in a large cabinet that made room feel very small. New TV hung on wall with smaller hutch would greatly improve the space. shower was old breakfast was limited. The facilities where breakfast was served were not suitable. Struggled to find anywhere to sit to eat, We ended up balancing our plates on our knees whilst sitting in two armchairs. No tables. Wi-fi did not work in our room, worked right outside of the door but stopped as soon as you shut the door. Other guests were having the similar problems. Shower spray was weak because the water was also coming out of the spicket at the damn same time. No spa available to relax in. I practically begged to get an extended check out to 1pm cause I didn't know how long it would take my children to do a marathon.::. We asked about the transport to the pier and the young man at reception said to just turn up in the morning, when we did we were told that it was busy and we had to take a cab. I checked to make sure that he'd booked our requested cab for early departure the next day and he hadn't. Seems he was new and needed more training. first night adjacent guest decided to call home at 5. am. after 20 mins i knocked on his door and he finished call . n/a. Shower fixtures need work, minor issue but real. Shower doesn't engage fully from the tub fill knob which means you don't get full pressure and the shower head should be replaced as well. Its a knit pick for sure as overall I would give them a 9.9!. Nothing. 20$ daily parking fee. It is always so expensive to stay. You can hear everything going on around you in your room. Pretty sure there was a guy on a conference call with China in the room next to me at 5am. Staff was a bit grumpy. check in delay,. Lounge re-purposed as breakfast area. Not enough lo-carb lo-fat options for breakfast. Shuttle to downtown wasn't running. nothing.
