Great small boutique hotel. Privately owned & operated. Both owners there. Service was superb. Facilities were spotless, really nice & quiet. Breakfast included in their wonderful restaurant. Great location with plenty of history and restaurants close. Highly recommend especially to couples looking for quiet get away. Will stay there

The hotel is in a great location. It must be amazing to have a room with a view of the park. Sadly, I wasn't that lucky.
The room itself was spacious. The bed was comfortable, but the matress a little worn. I kept sliding to the edge of the bed. The plaid on the bed had holes in it.

comfort, service from staff, location. The atmosphere of the hotel was splendid, much more character and charm than more modern, souless hotels. I felt I was staying in the real Boston. Hotel staff were outstanding, friendly, helpful. We stayed for a specialoccasion and the concierge gave us vip tickets for an attraction wewanted to visit. They went out of their way to make the stay memorable - Friendly good service the staff went out of their way to help. Good location close to Boston Common, historic sights underground etc

The hotel made up for a mistake letsbookhotel.com made. They accommodated my reservation even though letsbookhotel.com had never sent it to the hotel.

The location is wonderful. You're within walking distance to almost everything of interest in the city. There is a Whole Foods next door as well if you want to get something life fresh fruit. The rooms are spacious and clean -- and we got one with a wonderful view of the Charles River. I'm not sure if it was worth all the money we paid for it, but it was a weekend in a centrally-located hotel in Boston. I guess the price made sense.

Hotel 140 is located only a 5-minute walk from the rear exit of Back Bay Railroad Station. Upon arrival I had taken the train from Springfield, MA. I followed the drive where the local buses pull into Back Bay Station right out to Clarendon Street and bore left. I had just a half-block walk from that point to the front entrance of the hotel. The night receptionist was particularly helpful both the evening before and early the following morning when we had to leave. The internet facility was excellent - usually a problem when travelling. The reason we chose it in the first place was the position so we could walk everywhere and it seemed to be the best value on the website. - nice room

For the first time I have experienced that the room was just as nice and big as the pictures on the booking page showed.
