  The building itself is magnificent - harks back to a more refined time. We were a group of 5 "mature" college girlfriends, having our every-other-year reunion. The location was great, being within walking distance to the White House and many other sites, and 1 block away from the Metro. Biggest chocolate strawberrys/and cake and cream ive ever seen as a special gesture and free. staff and conciege extra polite and helpful.As previous comments this is a luxury standard by which all others should be judged the besr hotel we have stayed in and weve stayed in some top ones. the hotel is steeped in history take the trouble to enquire????

  We stayed here for 5 nights in late August and it was fabulous. Very spacious interconnecting rooms, ideal for a family of 6 and extremely comfortable beds.   I liked the 3 restaurant options (bar in the lobby, the grille, and the steak house). I'm always in a rush in the morning when I travel for business so I really appreciated the quick continental style breakfast available at the lobby bar. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.
