In the heart of the Hampshire countryside is the Fox and Hounds. This traditional pub is in the pretty village of Crawley, a 10-minute drive from Winchester.
The bar, with its 3 open log fires, serves a range of meals and a selection of English ales, lagers, wines and spirits. A full English or continental breakfast is served each morning, and special diets can be catered for.
Rooms at the Fox and Hounds are separate from the pub itself, and each comes with a Freeview TV and its own fridge. Tea and coffee facilities are included in each room.
A typical, quiet, English rural village, Crawley has a pond, church and many thatched cottages. a 10-minute drive away is the River Test, well-known for its trout and salmon fishing spots.
The Fox and Hounds has been part of village life since the 19th century. The pub was rebuilt in 1910 in a Tudor style.

The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. We weren't expecting breakfast to be included, so were pleasantly surprised to find a continental breakfast delivered to the room as well as milk, water butter and jam (for the coissants) already in the fridge. We ate at the pub for our evening meal and the food was very delicious, especially the homemade icecream and sorbet. We had our small son with us and he was provided with crayons and a colouring chart which was very thoughtful and provi. όλα τα σχόλια »
Amy gave us an excellent welcome on arrival. the room was extremely clean and comfortable. since we were leaving early the next day, the staff brought over many food items for us to be able to have some breakfast before leaving. the food at the for and hound is very well priced and of very good quality. The room given to visitors are at the back of the Fox and Hound proper so the place is extremely quite. I must emphasis that the staff go out of the way to make your stay enjoyable and comf.
We stayed here as the location was ideal for attending our sons passing out parade at ATR Winchester, the owners Sally and Alex could not have been more friendly and nothing was too much trouble the rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant and bar area are very nice olde worlde and the food cooked by the superb chef Alex was exceptional. We would definitely stop here again.
Friendly helpfull staff and owners where nothing is too much trouble without being overpowering. Fantastic food thats not expensive. Good local beers. Cereal, fresh milk and pastries left in your room each eve is a great touch (Yes, there is a fridge too).. Full cooked breakfast available if you so desire. Well presented clean rooms. Wonderful village location.
The size and comfort of the accomodation, The diligence of the front of house staff. The amazing quality of the food. The value for money.
The passion of the owners - dedicated to giving value for money and achieving that brief.
We arrived early evening. The owners had had a very busy Sunday lunchtime but found the time and effort to supply us with dinner. Owners had warm personalities and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended..
The staff were very friendly all of the time. The food was excellent both on the a la carte and bar snacks side. Everyone was very welcoming and it made us feel "this is somewhere we would like to come back to".
The chalet room we had was enchanting. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast superb and the evening snacks very welcome. I would definately come again and was very sad to leave.
The frantic efforts of Sally to be everywhere at once, balanced by the calm of Alex in the kitchen.
The food was outstanding, the atmosphere splendid. The locals made one feel part of the pub.
Crawley is a very beautiful village with thatched cottages and duck pond. Our hosts were very friendly, relaxed and helpful. The evening meal was delicious with home-grown herbs.

reasonable. Home made hamburger and chips only £5.00.

Staff were all pleasant and helpful.
Nice location.
the food.
nothing.
just one small issue. the fridge in our room is a bit noisy (not too much mind you) so if one is a very light sleeper, it does tend to annoy. but on the other hand, the freezer was well stocked for use. all else was excellent.
Nothing.
Nothing so far!!!.
No problems at all.
Nothing.
There was nothing I didn't like.
The hot water in the shower did not last long enough!.
The accomodation is a work in progress, but once completed there will be very little to complain about.
Continental breakfast is served in the bedroom, which is a little cramped.
Nothing.
A bit hard to find, one of the internet sites said it was in Sparsholt, not Crawley. So subsequently got lost !!.
stay was only one night.
Towels could do with an upgrade.
Nothing - everything was good.
Bathroom was a bit tired and could do with a makeover.
Bathroom could do with a little TLC.
The advertised Internet access was not available in the guest rooms.
The cost of drinks in the pub were a little steep, but then again probably fairly consistent with prices in most pubs in the south of England.
In-room breakfast.
nothing.
Bathroom could be spruced up.
Bar staff not very friendly
Food menu not very good.
not much really.
the area for cigarettes outside should be cleaned more often.
The country roads are narrow and the entrance to the parking at rear was tight. The room we had at the back was nice and comfortable but could have done with a good clean in the bathroom.
Fairly basic but ok for one or two nights.
The toilet seat was broke.
Some of the bathroom facilities could do with upgrading, but good overall.
Room was not very clean and requires redecoration.
Facilities dated and tired. Rooms need an upgrade, especially the bathroom. Could hear phones ringing and conversations in neighbouring room.
the warm beer.
every thing.
