All staff were really helpful and friendly. Restaurant staff great fun.Only had breakfast but a brilliant choice. Reception staff
through out the stay very professional , welcoming .
The Hostel is in an outstanding location, good for parking,the building itself is full of history without being stuffy or pretentious. Also you get free entry to the Abby how brilliant is that!

It was the cleanest East Coast resorts I've seen. There were people picking up litter all day long.
The hotel staff didn't bug us. It was very quiet on a night and we had a few channels on the tv. The hotel had a nice size on suite shower. Plenty of towels. Tea and coffee and Kettle in the room.

After a friendly welcome we were shown to our room which was large , immaculately clean, tastefully decorated & comfortable .The location was good , just a short walk into the center of Whitby. Enjoyed eating breakfast in the room at our leisure, plenty of choice in our breakfast hamper which was delivered to the door each morning .Ample tea/coffee in the room & the option to have the room serviced daily if required . You were made to feel welcome from the onset, all the facilities were pointed out immediately with tea/coffee offered, which was a very nice touch. In our opinion this was the best guest house we have stayed in. Our room was very comfortable spacious and clean and the towels were changed everyday. There was a fridge on our landing and the owner Sheila put fresh milk in there in case we didn't like the milk in our room (Have never stayed anywhere else that did that). Mike, Sheilas husband cook

Michael and Sheila were very friendly and down-to-earth. We were made to feed very welcome and everything was to a good standard and very clean. The breakfast was very good too. Whitby itself has everything you could wish for from a friendly seaside town (British weather permitting of course) and it is particularly dog-friendly. There are lots of food outlets to suit every budget. Shopping is excellent. Will definitely be going to Whitby again!

very relaxing couple of days, hotel both inside and outside kept to a very good standard, staff very helpful and bedroom had lovely views over the countryside, a very clean and well kept hotel. - The staff were polite and efficient, the room was well maintained and clean, the food in the restaurant was extremely good. All in all an excellent stay.

The breakfast was a definite high point: beautifully cooked, using high quality ingredients. As a vegetarian it was good to see that this was well catered for.
