Hambleden village is absolutely beautiful and is just 4 miles from Henley, so is convenient for either the quiet countryside or the more lively atmosphere of town. We received a warm welcome from Dan and the rest of the staff that we encountered on our one night stay. We booked a classic room and was allocated 'The Pit' which was a very pretty, clean and well presented room. Good pub food in the evening and an excellent breakfast with lots of choices. Highly recommended for some country style R&R!!

This is no ordinary B & B but a century old pub situated in a quiet residential area, 5 minutes from the train station and 10 from the city centre, with friendly helpful staff and excellent food at a good price. They were very helpful. After I was there for three hours I discovered the toilet did not work. They moved me to another room immediately. Two days later the ceiling caved in during the night because of the water from the air conditioner. You could not find a hotel with a better location in Oxford. Our room overlooked the garden of Jesus College. All of the colleges and main street are literally minutes away. The room was a large converted barn and well planned. It had a walk in shower and a freestanding bath and was designed beautifully. The bed was massive and incredibly comfortable. We love staying here, it has a central location within Henley near to the Thames. The rooms are luxurious with fantastic showers and the attention detail is spot on. The staff are friendly and professional and nothing is much for them. I would highly recommend staying here!

The hotel was very comfortable. I had asked for a room with a view over the countryside and was given one. We were originally given a room with an ajoining door which was noisy as we could hear the next rooms tv. I asked reception if we could move. They read my original request for a countryside view and upgraded us for free in order to do this so

I had asked for an upstairs room overlooking countryside - my request was complied with and we had a lovely view. Food was outstanding for a hotel. Breakfast plentiful, varied and extra items ordered (ie veggie sausages and smoked haddock) arrived swiftly. Dinner also excellent. - The reception staff were welcoming and friendly and we found all the staff to be smiling and helpful. Our room was very comfortable, well furnished and well decorated. Both food and service in the restaurant were excellent. The breakfast menu catered for all tastes; the food was plentiful and self service ensured we had exactly what we wanted. The dinner menu was also excellent.

The overall ambience of the hotel. Friendly staff. Clean, fresh room decoration. We also enjoyed the location with a bonus of a restaurant overlooking woodland. The staff was courteous, attentive and informative. In the bad winter weather the location was excellent for the train station. - It was relaxed, the drinks available to your room were priced fairly.
