The apartment was spacious, immaculately presented and every detail seemed to have been considered to allow the visitor to simply relax and enjoy. From the flowing lay-out, to the tasteful décor and furnishings and the outside terrace and garden spaces - truly first-rate. -

Gorgeous setting with lovely, hospitable hosts. The inn is very warm, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect time to interact with other interesting quests. It is a nice 15 minute drive to St. Andrews. We stay in B and B's frequently, and Kirkland Barns is among the best we have experienced! -

The hosts were the best we have met in our year of travelling and our fellow guests were extremely pleasant to spend time with. A most enjoyable experience.

The person we met with to check-in was very friendly and explained everything well.
The room was very tidy and the bathroom in particular was of a very high order, it looked new with a new powerful shower unit. The beds were also comfortable, and there was little-no road noise or other noise.

Evelyn the owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, it was clean and comfortable, somewhere you could relax after a long day sightseeing. The garden was furnished with seats for the guests and there was also a guest lounge. The continental breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice and Evelyn was happy to provide more should you require it. I would certainly visit again and recommend this hotel to friends.

The size of our room was wonderful with a lovely bathroom, king bed and
plenty of electrical outlets (often missing in other hotels). The
breakfast buffet was fresh and well stocked and there was a nice choice
of entrees for a hot breakfast. There was optional turn-down service and
shortbread cookies to enjoy with coffee in the room; WiFi functioned
very well (also uncommon in other hotels).

The staff were excellent, particularly with my 93 yr old mother whom I
take away as often as I can from her sheltered accommodation. Finding a
place that suits her is not at all easy. The Waterfront was ideal, even
although the stairs posed a bit of a challenge. The next time, I will
ask for her to have a room on the ground floor if that is possible.
The food was very good and more than plentiful. There would be little chance of malnutrition.

We only used the hotel as a staging point for a trip, we were made very welcome, the room was very well appointed, and the breakfast faultless... Firstly the room very pleasant I was in room four with view of the palace plump duvet and pillows very comfortable. With large shower room next door with nice decor and toiletries all yu can need although you are asked if you have any requests just ask. The atmosphere was just so cosy and comfortable especially for a pre christmas break. The Staff were so accommodating and hospitable. We especially liked the fact we could wander down for breakfast when we were ready as the pub didn't open till 1230. The breakfast was really delicious and we also enjoyed our evening meal the first night.
