  Host met me at the door quite late (she stayed up to welcome me), a take away breakfast was provided, and the shuttles to the airport were great - I left at 0430h. - Homely, friendly and courteous staff.Close by village centre, perfect location for Stansted airport, free shuttle service to the airport and value for money.

  We were visiting uni for my daughter and wanted to be out of the town. Lovely setting, peaceful area. Warm welcome from the owners, tea, homemade cake and a chat! Rm was amazing, spotless, very comfy, elegant. Included toiletries, fruit,homemade biscuits, dressing gowns and a glass of sherry in the room! Very tasty breakfast next day. The treble tile gastro pub served excellent food at good prices, great service and - Absolutely beautiful styling, really luxurious and impressive. Seeing a huge painting of Buddha on the back wall of the bedroom was one of those 'wow' moments that some of us pay the money for. Comfy bed. Freebies including free glass of sherry. Nice cooked breakfast. Fantastic. Having stayed in a few of them, guest houses don't get better than this, they really don't.

  The welcome from Debbie was second to none eventhough we were in a rush she offered to make us a coffee whilst we got ready for a wedding. The room was superb, lovely airy, clean and modern. Slept like a baby so the bed must have been very comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was pleasantly presented and very well cooked. Very clean and confortable accommodation. From the moment I arrived Mr Hanson was very welcoming. I stayed there to attend a wedding and Mr Hanson kindly gave me a lift to the venue to save me struggling the walk in my heels. I had a very comfortable sleep and the full english breakfast the following morning was plentiful and delicious. I would definately stay again if ever in that neck of the woods. Clare

  The Polstead Lodge is a home away from home. Exactly what we wanted, a comfortable room and a beautiful countryside setting away from the hustle and bustle of London.   I booked for one night and couldn't spend lot of time in the B&B because I had an early flight connection. But my room was perfect for the purpose. It was clean and was really comfortable. I would definitely repeat if I go to London-Stansted again. - Everything was just perfect, much better than expected.Tony, the host is nice, welcoming and flexible. We stayed there a couple of nights and spent the weekend there. The room was clean and furnished with sophisticate taste, combining perfectly antique and new. The atmosphere is so nice and warm that the risk is not to go out at all : ) also because if you want you get breakfast in your room the night before!

  We have travelled a lot in our lifes and have stayed quite a lot in expensive hotels but we never felt so relaxed, happy and welcome and so spoiled like we have been here.
