The staff is friendly and very proud of their jobs which is the best thing for the hotel. No wonder it is in such a good condition. You should be really proud of this! The hostel used to be a castle, so except for the truth that I have to share with others, I feel very good. The problem of sharing with others is that I have to use my phone as torch at night when returning the room at 12pm and try not to make any sounds. As long as convenient transportation is not your goal, choose this hostel a.

He even gave us a car tour guide that he had of the local area of Cornwall to take with us while we were driving around sightseeing which included some sights that most tourists don't get to see. The food was great and good value for money. the facilities were all very clean and we were made to feel so welcome and at home. You can find what you need: countryside and seaside, shopping and walking around. The hostel is really nice, it is near the Promenade, Penlee's Park and Maccrob's garden, maybe it is a little bit far from the centre - Penzance Station but it doesn't matter because the place is really beautiful. Some of the best facilities back packing facilities I have seen in my travels around the globe. So impressed with the level of cleanliness and the staff were so helpful and welcoming. Seriously made for a fantatsic trip, will definitely be back. Food and cafe. Super value. Local info sharing with both receptionists was v. helpful. Garden and outlook great. I am pretty satisified with this YHA. As usual, YHA provide clean and convienent facility for customer. There is a big garden beside the building, we enjoy had meal arounded by tress and sunshine. They had plenty of information on things to do whilst in cornwall and the staff were also knowledgeable on where to go and what to do and always happy to help. The staff were very helpful. Decor was fab as was the location. We didn't have time to eat in the restaurant but it looked very good and value for money. No light around at night, remember to carry torch if you are going to return late. Transportation is not that convenient, if you are with huge heavy luggage(like me), think twice, especially if you just stay for one night. But the transportation in penzance is not that convenient as well..so it's not their bad. "old" smell in corridors need ventilation or damp-treatment? probably a bit too warm for those expecting lots of outdoor activities and dressed for that. Didnt see a bath in our area. Dorms a bit cramped but a spacious lounge to compensate. I was only there for one night but found nothing to complain about. They do not provide free WIFI and hair drier. Nothing - altogether a very pleasant experience. The only tiny snag was a couple of inconsiderate guests who were rather noisey getting up in the morining but this wan't the fault of the hostel. Nothing. The only problem I had was staying in a bunk bed, but only because I am 6ft 5in it was a little bit small but managed and at the price I paid its not to be grumbled at. Being in a room opposite the toilets, rather noisy as were the doors as they were fire doors and people just let them go. Nothing!. - 40 mins walk from train station. - only 2 lights on the road to YHA, need a torch when come back after sun set. - doors and floor make noise. the kitchen is not quite good because it is underground and smelly. We both had a really poor nights sleep due to the boiler going off regularly all night long. There was a serious blast which rattled the window everytime it went off. We were in room 3. Nothing!. Our own fault. Forgot tea bags!. nothing. Location. very small room. No wifi available and all computers out of order, bunk beds for us as a couple, check-in not available until 4pm and then rushed to checkout by 10am as reception closing (reception closed 10-4), fair way out of centre. I would suggest put the bus times to town on the back of the map as was done in Stratford, another yha which is outside the actual town area. Complete absence of personnel on arrival thus resulting in lack of use of locker facilities. Its position across a busy main road and a substantial walk to the town. Expensive for hostel accommodation. the reception time is too little. Never ever stay in room number 1- it has a window which you cannot open. therrfore it stinks in there like in a men's gym. the fan doesn't help a bit! it is lousy that people in there have to pay the same amount of money!.
