Nice hotel overall, it is a little dated now, however it was clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable and the staff were good. I have to say it is one of the quietest hotels I've stayed in so I got a great nights sleep.
I had to be at Newton Abbot to attend a funeral and was reccomended to the Queens Hotel Good call - I liked the Hotel and the staff were excellent.

Location - across the road from the train station and 50 yards from our
pick up point for our holiday. Travelled with my elderly mother and
staff friendly and helpful. Upgraded our room free of charge.
Reasonable priced accommodation in a convinient location for our needs.

location.
The hotel bar was a disappointment, it must be one of the worst hotel bars I've come across for stock.
duvets didn't fit the beds properly-double duvets on queen size beds.
public rooms were cold.
Musty smell in room, no meals available and not being able to have take away in room.
Cannot say I didn't like anything here.
The entrance to the Hotel looks like it needed to be cleaned up.
There were dead leaves everywhere. Remember first impressions count.
It would be better if the price includes breakfast as well.
The Indian down the road ! Eastern eye ! Not your fault.
Wasn't there long enought to get upset by anything!.
out of date condiments for bar food.
Bit noisy as room in road side.
a bit tired.
The door to our up-graded room had a lock which didn't fit properly.
Door felt insecure.
Interior decoration and frunishings starting to look tired.
Nothing of note.
Shower wasn't hot enough.
Continental breakfast only and no other catering.
Very noisy location
No double glazing so heavy condensation on windows and draughty.
tv too small & no BBC programs available.
Came to your hotel as a group had been out and decided to all come back
and have a drink in the bar went to get a second drink only to be told
it was closed no last orders were shouted when I questioned this was
told she had told 1 man in are party was very disappointed that we had
to leave and find somewhere else at 11 pm.
Tired and jaded hotel. Very poor standards of cleanliness. Our bedroom was not serviced properly: the wet towels were still in the bath and not changed, the sink was not cleaned, the bed had not been made properly, the pillows were not shaken or straightened, a cushion was left on the floor.
The breakfast was very slow to appear.
noise and vibration of passing traffic made sleep difficult, room was not equipped with basic items I.e Iron ironing board and hair dryer. For £92 you would expect these issues to be solved.
Droning, incessant noise of neighbouring bathroom extractor fan, left
running form 3.30 am (goodbye sleep) until perpetrator woke up to the
nuisance four hours later...
Room was so very noisy, both me & my partner hardly slept all night due to noise from room above at 3am people walking around & talking for 2hrs could hear everything + pedestrians shouting in street. Room was cold even with radiators on, bath was too small for (6'3") & no hot water unless it ran for 15-20mins before..
Smelly Bathroom and dirty towels left on the back of the bathroom door.
no lifts
only one member of staff on working check in and bar at the same time. no reserved parking place.
very expensive for a very old room which had seen better days.
the room was freezing.the heater is in the wrong place.the tv didnt work properly.the alarm clock fell apart at the touch.you have to pay for parking.i left my room at 7 in the morning and the corridoors was dark i nearly fell down the stairs.i was told there would be staff on duty at 7 so that i could get my car but there was not so i left late again for the second time.
service
shower
it was shut and no body answered phone or door
the bar was shut.
The rooms we stayed in were not cleaned. The bed was not made nor the
basin cleaned. The window in the room was left wide open which meant the
noise from the air conditioning unit, directly under the window was very
noisy. There was no beer on tap as the hotel was 'running it
done'! The cost was excessive for the service. I did express these
complaints to the lady on the desk, at our departure.
The noise from the road outside was none stop and we could not sleep due to this. This meant we had a terrible evenings sleep and were woken several times because of the noise. We did not use any of the facilities at all so could not comment.
Poor view from bedroom window.
Bar closed at 10pm for residents!
Felt more like a B&B than an expensive hotel.
The hotel, in my opinion, can only be described as seedy. Dowdy décor and furnishings, poor quality fitments, dim lighting, no working wifi and no food available in the 'hotel'. This is my second stay there and I hesitated about booking but its location was what I needed. However, I would never stay again under current management.
To expensive £10.00 for a continental breakfast which was awful Shabby
rooms Door to the room could easily be opened. Unsafe.
