The Swan Hotel is an 18th-century hotel located in the centre of Alresford, just 15 minutes drive from Winchester. It has a bar, 2 restaurant areas, and a lounge with free parking located at the rear of the hotel The bedrooms all have tea/coffee making facilities, a flat-screen TV, hairdryer, with some rooms offering free Wi-Fi. One room is wheelchair friendly with twin beds and a wet room. The Watercress Room and the Dining Room are open 7 days per week from 07:30 offering breakfast, lunch and dinner for both residents and non residents. Guests are welcome to relax in the Snug after dinner with a drink or a coffee. Alresford is well known for its Georgian architecture with riverside walks alongside the River Arle. The Watercress Steam Railway is one minute's walk from the hotel.

Warm welcome despite a late arrival. Charming staff who were most helpful and friendly - as was the landlady. The rooms were large, well appointed and very comfortable. The food was excellent. Overall it is an hotel that punches well above it two star rating in all respects. Big room,with 4 poster bed, bathroom with bath as requested ....... convenient location for visiting family in Four Marks, and I was there for the Alresford Watercress Festival which was something new and interesting to experience.
όλα τα σχόλια » Great style: an old travelling inn, full of historic character, but restored in a tasteful and modern style: chic, comfortable, good use of colour and texture. Choice of an authentic pub atmosphere of romantic restaurant to eat in. We loved the quirkiness of the old building, the odd shaped rooms and uneven floors. Its setting in the middle of the village and at the edge of lovely countryside was perfect. Excellent breakfast and helpful staff. The location and actual hotel was lovely. Staff very friendly and although we could not eat in the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast, due to us having a dog, we were made very welcome. Staff very friendly and helpful.food was very good!!! Room very nice everything we needed. Central location and very easy to find.if in area again would go back. Eggs Benedict on breakfast menu, but no muffins on Sunday or Monday morning .. pity really, I really enjoyed them on Friday !!!. The air conditioning/ heating unit? Was directly outside our bedroom window and was very noisy. As it was a hot weekend and we wanted the window open this was quite disruptive. We stayed in one of the downstairs rooms in the outside accommodation. The noise coming from above, due to people moving about, fan in bathroom, was very disturbing and although this is my only criticism I am not sure I would stay again. Nothing everything good. Nothing. bathroom towel rails and fittings were broken and were not fitted properly in the first place. More substantial fittings required. Small car park but that's quite minor really. the food did not live up to the advertisements....and although the waiter was extremely attentive we were disappointed. Having said that we ate it but it was not what we expected. Nothing, really, but our room looked over the pub garden, which was a bit noisy with the window open. Fortunately the air conditioning worked well. Lack of security. Door locks suspect. Nowhere to leave anything securely . The walls of our room were not very thick and we were kept awake by late night noise from adjoining room. Car park spaces are limited. Nothing. None. Noisy road outside. no glasses at breakfast, tables not set or cleared straight away, had to ask for spoon to eat cereal with. No internet but they are working on this. Didn't like the fact that having received a booking confirmation and reference the hotel did not and but for luck when my engineers arrived they had rooms available despite the lack of communication from letsbookhotel.com. Sort this out, they were not the only people who could at a relatively late hour could have been left searching for accommodation. reluctant to use this service again!!!!!. The hotel is right next to a church with the clock bells sounding every hour - but you do get used to this! There was no toilet paper in the bathroom when I first arrived. Parking can be a problem as there are limited spaces. The Hotel is undergoing a massive re-construction which was underlined by their low prices at the moment. Whilst the room was clean and adequate, the walls were so thin you could hear every word being spoken next door and the sound of snoring throughout the night. The above room floorboards were also very noisy. THE WORST NIGHT I HAVE EVER HAD IN A HOTEL! Room 15 is next to the stair well and has a door which slamed incessantly. Next to the boiler providing hot water started at 5 am. A party in the basement was very loud and late into the night. The revelers hanging around outside for even longer. No management pressence during my stay. For the price I wish I had gone elswhere. THE WORST NIGHT I HAVE EVER HAD IN A HOTEL!. Had booked 2 rooms for me and a colleague ,when we arrived were told only one room would have to share, should not advertise rooms that are unavailable , receptionist said had given room to phone booking not happy had to find another hotel at 9pm , so check your booking over phone as is not certain you will get one at this hotel !!!!!!!!.
