The welcome we received made us feel at home straight the way, Dave the landlord was efficient and very informative. Met Suzie his partner/wife later that evening and nothing was to much trouble. Room 2 was really stylish and the bed was so comfortable. Friends who stayed at the same time had room 3 and they said the same. Breakfast was more than plentiful and toast never ran out also the coffee. Will most certainly use The White Lion again...... όλα τα σχόλια »
I have never stayed in a pub before-- it was friendly and relaxed and I was made to feel welcome. The room was extremely tastefully done and the food was lovely. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room and very clean I would recommend it to anyone for a nice leisurely break. Well done The White Lion keep it just the way it is.
The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, the room was big, light
and airy and the food was excellent. Only issue was two of the 3 windows
in my room wouldn't open as they had been apinted over, but I
mentioned this to the staff and they said it was being attended to so no
complaint there!.
The food and service at the White Lion were excellent. Being close to the canal and river there are some wonderful short walks and a few hikes if you want to make a day of it. The car parking is right next to the pub and there is a co-op shop/petrol station just over the bridge.
Friendly, helpful owners.
Lovely big bedroom, plenty of room for dog cage.
Plenty parking.
Ideal location for walking the dog.
Excellent choice and variety for dinner, and allow dogs in dining room.
Plenty of tea & coffee in room and small toiletries in en suite shower room.
Located just off main road, in a quiet village. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Regulars at the pub were too, and it has a cosy atmosphere. The decor had character and charm.
Breakfast was substantial.
Food was, on the whole, good and the range of food on the menu good. The
location was excellent, walks along the canal towpath very close by, the
rail links to tourist attractions was excellent and cheap.
View from the outside eating area lovely and peaceful. Food was spot on. Staff Dave & Susie very helpful. Good choice of beers, simply put lovely little get away place, albeit I was there for work!.
Lovely comfortable bed. good food, friendly staff, very busy garden tables with lovely views. Church behind inn with bells ringing the hour during the day but not during the night. Heavenly.
A really clean and comfortable room with tea and coffee facilities. We chose what time we wanted breakfast which helped us with getting back out early. The White Lion is biker friendly.
The staff were unusually friendly and helpful. The room itself was spacious and pleasant, with a pretty vista, and the bed was very comfortable. Good value for money.
The hosts, Susie and Dave were welcoming and friendly. Everything was on hand for a most enjoyable stay. Breakfast was good with lots of selection and served well.
Good location, well presented pub with relaxing atmosphere and good food. Room comfortable and well presented. Full English Breakfast set me up for the day.
We needed to be away early the next day and although cooked breakfast starts at 8.00 the staff arranged for us to have it at 7.30. Much appreciated.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and they keep a very interesting and tasty beer-cellar. We were very comfortable and felt well-looked after.
Warm friendly and sociable staff. Great roomy and clean accommodation. Pleasant environment with great food and excellent customer service.

Fair price, location, food and drink.
friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
Comfortable beds.

Good location for what we needed.
The staff where friendly and helpful in the bar area.
We could get food late evening as we arrived late.
Car parking on site.
the pub was good.
If I was going to nit pick the only thing I could fault was the sink in the en-suite it was tiny, but on the plus side it had a good shower and shampoo, soap, body wash, cotton ear buds all provided which is rare these days.
Broken toilet seat, taps which moved when you turned them on and were very stiff.
The room had only one small window that did not open fully and in the
recent hot weather we were not offered a fan to cool the room. The
Sunday lunch we bought let the owners down as the roast potatoes were
badly burnt and the choice of meat and veg was very average.
N/a for once!.
There was no desk in the room and the bathroom was not very modern.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing to add here.
Heating a bit erratic.
Nohing.
Sometimes it was cold in bedroom.
Noisy at closing time.
Breakfast was very basic.
Nothing I didn't like.
Nothing.
Both the sandwich the night before and the fine full English breakfast were let down by poor quality bread!.
No bread at breakfast, and reconstituted chips! But far outweighed by what I liked!.
No Bath.
sink overshadowing the toilet.
Noise from the toilet..
Noisy room, staff not up at agreed breakfast time. Grumpy staff. Breakfast.
The bedroom was not very clean, dust on the plug sockets, mold on the windows and all in the shower cubicle. The toilet was on a uneven floor which was strange. Heating poor in the room.
When we were leaving there was no one to hand the keys back to, it was not too early approx 10am. We went down to an empty pub, unable to enter some areas due to an alarm and then had to unbolt the door and see ourselves out with out saying good bye to anyone which I found quite strange and a little daunting.
sunday lunch was not good.
