This 17th century country pub is set in the scenic Norfolk countryside, 30 minutes’ drive from Norwich. It offers luxurious rooms with free Wi-Fi, superb homemade meals and a charming bar. Rooms at the The Pigs combine period features and all include a Bang & Olufsen TV with DVD and CD player in the double rooms. Luxury bedding and spacious bathrooms with under-floor heating are provided. Some rooms also have a sauna and patio with fire pit. A freshly cooked breakfast is served daily featuring products sourced within 15 miles of the property. Guests can enjoy modern British cuisine and a cosy atmosphere in the bar, which serves real ales and homemade lemonade. You can relax in the gardens and outdoor seating area and there is also a children’s playground. The Blue Flag beaches of Sheringham and Cromer are within 10 minutes’ drive. The Pigs offers free parking and is 13 miles from Fakenham Racecourse.

A superb example of how to modernise a traditional country inn to the highest standard, and still retain its historic 17th century character. Amazing, just wonderful! Super facilities, including a shower that beats most 4 or 5-star hotels. I liked the friendly, warm, relaxed atmosphere, the personal touch and first-class no-nonsense service, without irritating 'Is everything all right for you, sir?' How refreshing! No airs and graces, no artificial 'modern' politeness. The staff, without except.

The food was amazing the surroundings were fabulous & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will most certainly return & wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Pigs to everyone. I loved the room with the outside bath and courtyard with fire pit though I didn't use it. Lovely big bed and TV. I also liked being on the ground floor. I thought the dresser in the hall with wine milk etc was a very good idea. The whole place gave an air of friendliness and relaxation. Sumptuous Bed Very clean Quality bathroom Individual Sauna (brilliant!) Lovely bath (would have preferred a jacuzzi but what we had was great) Liitle garden and wood-burner were fantastic - cooked the marhs-mallows that were provided ... lush!. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were luxurious and modern with great views. Food was excellent. Staff more than happy to amend the menu to cater for my allergies. Will definately stay again. The bed!! Super size with proper cotton sheets and duck down duvet. Rooms are large and the interiors have obviously been designed with care - as have the breakfasts!. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food; dinner and breakfast was amazing and very filling. Little touches such as fresh milk, marshmellows and cookies. the service was second to none,, staff were friendly, helpful, nothing was to much trouble. look forward to our next visit. a relaxing weekend. Can't think of any. The only thing we did not like was having to leave!. Though I loved the bath it was too long for me and I couldn't watch the TV in comfort. Perhaps something to put at the foot of the bath for short people would help!! Like a bath cushion or block of wood. The Hotel infomation booklet wasn't up to the high standard of everything else with a tatty cover and loose inside pages. I think it may have got a bit messy on the outside because it is so near to the kettle and perhaps got water on it. Wasn't clear what time breakfast was so missed the serving (however, they provided b'fast especially for us so can't complain!) No ac in room "Communal" fridge so had to leave room to get milk. No lights on the "back-entrance" which we have to use after 11pm. Bit dangerous. The low ceilings were a bit difficult for someone above average height (nothing they can do there) and would have liked the option of a hand shower (drench showers are an acquired taste). The location was further out of holt than I realised but as long as you are happy to drive then this is not a problem. the gable end room,, had to watch you did not hit the wall when getting out of bed, especially my husband who is tall. My husband found a long blond hair in his vegetables which did put us off our evening meal, the staff dealt with it very well & a round of drinks was taken off the bill. Narrow Stairs to bedroom. We were not given the choice of a bedroom on the ground floor. nothing. No member of staff on the premises at night menu a little limited no curtains / blinds in the bathroom which overlooked houses! Window only half frosted and was no use at all when using the shower or getting in / out the bath. There was nothing not to like. Nothing really. After 2 nights though we couldn't have eaten in the restaurant but that isn't a bad thing!. Tasteless kipper. Nothing. the food. t.v. Some of the freeview channels were unavailable probably needed retuning. Service could have been better.
