Set amongst wooded, peaceful grounds, Balmuirfield House is a historically listed country house surrounded by wildlife and picturesque gardens. The B&B is in the scenic countryside, while also being just 10 minutes’ drive from Dundee city centre. A private bathroom, flat-screen TV and garden views are featured in each spacious room at Balmuirfield House, and some offer a four-poster bed. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the building, and plenty of on-site parking is available. Locally produced bacon is served with the traditional Scottish breakfast, and assorted homemade breads with local jams are also available. The 16th-century Mains Castle is just a 20-minute walk away, next to Caird Park Golf Club and Trottick Nature Reserve. Glamis Castle, St Andrews, Carnoustie and Perth are all within a 30-minute drive.

The ambience was unbelievable a delight and well above our expectations. Host and Hostess were extremely accommodating to the point of cooking the fish we had caught in Loch Ness for our evening meal. Stuart also assisted in directions for medical assistance needed due to an asthma attack. Bedrooms were a delight, sleeping in a four poster bed with antique furniture through our the house gave it a luxury feeling of an old world country manor house. Breakfast exceptional well worth the visit onl.
όλα τα σχόλια » My first impression before meeting the owners was "gorgeous grounds and magnificent, historic home". Once I met the Clarks, it kept getting better. They could not have been more welcoming. Their luxuriously decorated accomodations, fabulous food and truly helpful service are among the best I have encountered in more than 20 years of staying in B & B's. Top notch in every way!. Lovely furnishings throughout the house including a great four poster bed. Our host (Stuart) was very attentive providing tea in the afternoon, a lovely log fire in the evening and the breakfast was great too. The house is set off the road in a pretty woodland area. We highly recommend it!. Excellent family run b+b, Morag and Stuart have tastefully restored this beautiful country house. Rooms are spacious and well equiped coupled with friendly service, one of the best b and b I've ever stayed at. Next time would bring my wife rather than a rush business trip. Lovely property with very friendly owners. Good breakfast and a pleasant room. When travelling on a budget I normally just book the most convenient B&B but I would go out of my way to stay here again. We ate in an excellent restaurant recommended by the B&B owners. Everything from start to finish was perfect. Host's excellent and always informative, accomodating. Tranquil setting/a perfect hideaway. The accomodation was fisrt class and so comfortable. A brilliant stay and would definately go again. Truly lovely. what a surprising jewel , beautiful house hidden away in its own green oasis with wonderful, recent decor and 5* facilities, very large comfortable rooms, attention to detail immaculate and most of all the warmest and helpful wonderful hosts. Beautiful rooms, very friendly, coffee & cake on arrival in front of a log fire owners could not be any better lovely breakfast, you have to travel about 5 miles to go out for dinner but it's worth it . I will defiantly return fantastic. We loved Morag's beetroot cake and Stuart's genorosity with the Scotch bottle ensures a good review for Balmuirfield House. Wee Josephine is following in her parent's footsteps as a friendly and entertaining hostess. A great experience. This is a lovely place where you are made to feel welcome. The bed is large and comfortable, the curtains almost black out the light from the room and everything is so well designed and put together. I will most definitely return. Fantastic stay in a quiet, rural setting, nearby Dundee. Only 10 minutes away from the city by bus or taxi, and in nice rural area. And in these winter days the tea room with fire was very charming and heart warming. Greeted by lovely hosts into a beautiful country home on five acres in the city. Offers every comfort and the largest selection of breakfast ever, and delicious. Would like to have stayed longer. Dog Friendly, beautiful comfortable rooms. Great hosts even had pressies for the dogs. Welcomed with tea and cakes in front of a roaring log fire. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Very nice hidden gem, Stuart and Morag make you feel very welcome and the room we had was on a par with many of the 4 and 5 star hotels we stayed in during our trip. We will be back. The location was absolutely amazing. Stuart and Morag and their daughter Josephine are truely very special people and they are at the heart of Balmuirfield. The Small country house is a hidden gem, the owners are very hospitable and go out of there way to do everything they can to ensure your stay is good. Cant think of anything. the road into it, is a bit bumpy, but it was worth it, and they are very very nice people. Not a lot !. Nothing. Wish we'd stayed longer. nothing. Being very picky the drapes are not black out thus making sleep difficult early morning. being lazy we found a 10:30am checkout to be very early. our mistake for not knowing when we arrived but only a minor detail in a fantastic visit. Nothing really apart from no bar !. Had a slight problem with the shower. The water was either too hot or too cold. However, I only stayed 1 night so I suspect I would have mastered it if I'd stayed longer. Nothing. Nothing. nothing. The house address sign could be more promenent, hard to notice. Nothing!. Very difficult to find. Had to travel three times along the same road as the sign for the B+B was small and difficult to read on a dark wet night. I had to come home. The fact that the I was not able to meet all the nice family of the B&B.
