Owners Michael and Fiona were an absolute delight, nothing too much trouble. Fiona even produced some rice cakes for my non-wheat-eating partner at breakfast, and Michael dropped us off in town himself when we asked about taxis. Thanks again, Michael. The bed was huge and comfortable, and it was a nice touch to offer a flask of fresh milk for tea

We were at a wedding nearby so popped over to quickly check in between events! We received a warm welcome on arrival and our room felt homely and clean. Very comfortable bed with loads of pillows and bedding good quality. Excellent breakfast next day, service very good. Fiona and Mike are a lovely couple who quickly make you feel at home. We would happily recommend Hawthorn Farm to others.

Location, cleanliness and spaciousness of the apartment very impressive. Having stayed in holiday apartments before, it's rare to have such large separate living / dining rooms and kitchens. I am 6ft. 1in. tall and had no difficulties. - the penthouse apartment was really nicely decorated with attention to detail shown in the vases and pictures on the walls, and it had a lovely comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. we particularly enjoyed the jaccuzzi bath and the under floor heating which really made a difference in the bathroom

We loved the warm greeting by friendly staff. The rooms were gorgeous with a large selection of hot drinks to choose from. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. Everything was very well kept and clean. The lounge had a bar, snooker table, games and cards for children and adults, plenty of choice of magazines and information on the local area plus comfortable sofas and armchairs to relax and enjoy the lovely view from the large window. We liked the size of the apartment, the open fire, the fact that you could really spread and feel at home. Our daughters appreciated the WiFi! It was also great to have the kitchen and to avoid the added cost of eating out. There were other residents but, in such a solid place, we just didn't hear them. We are already planning a return visit. -

we could take our dog which was great as we were there for walking peak district. it was very close to the town and lovely park. staff were friendly,bar wasnt over priced and the breakfast was excellent. rooms were little dated but very clean at the price we thought very good value for money. -

The proprietors made a point of being there when we arrived to greet us,even though we were late due to travel times/traffic, they welcomed usand were full of knowledge of the area, the hotel is a lovely placebeautifully decorated and the rooms are just about perfect, and thesetting very nice indeed, its a pity we only had a short time there, butI

Been before.. Will come again.. Individual character, staff are friendlyand go that little bit further with service. Superb and a pleasurableexperience. My two sons particularly love this hotel.. Internet access worked without any problem - unlike other hotels we've stayed. Our room was light, very clean, pretty bed linen, Having sheets and blanket was a lovely change from a duvet. Extra pillows in room without having to ask. Plenty of tea, coffee etc.
