Hard to say whether this is a pub with unusually good rooms, or a hotel whose bar and restaurant are much appreciated by the locals. On balance, probably the former. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole place has the pleasantly informal atmosphere of a convivial but well-run country hostelry. The dinner menu, too, is essentially pub fare albeit notably generous and well cooked pub fare. Similarly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, with everything you need but no pretensions. όλα τα σχόλια »
Very friendly staff, excellent value for money, Choice at breakfast outstanding, animal friendly. Central location in Bovey Tracey very easy to find.Evening meal available in resturant again very good quality and price. All in all would recommend to anyone. Very spacious room with bath, shower and 4 poster bed. We will be back in the not to distant future.
We got a great welcome and the staff were really helpful. The room was clean and perfectly adequate for our purposes and housekeeping were particularly understanding when I couldn't let them in as we were getting ready to attend a wedding. They checked if we needed anything and left us alone - great thank you.
We were shown to our room (always a good sign) which was bright and airy, the food was excellent, staff were very friendly, there was a large car park at the rear of the hotel.
We could only stay one night as our holiday was at an end....wish we had found it earlier!!.
Very friendly and efficient staff who do their best to make any stay enjoyable. Great food at reasonable prices.Clean and quite spacious rooms for a four night stay at reasonable prices. Ideal for coastal and moorland visits as both within a short drive.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the bed comfortable. It was fun being in the middle of the village and exploring it and the amazing moors. The pub was a popular local hangout with friendly folks and excellent beer.
The hotel was comfortable and clean.
Staff were very friendly and the bar quite lively for such a small village.
Very little to see and do in the evening but as only stayed in area for one night whilst passing through it was ideal for us.
Comfy, stylish bed in beamed ceiling room. Easy access to car park from room. Delicious , well-cooked breakfast served punctually. Friendly staff who wished to please. Pleasant atmosphere in restaurant. A handy spot to stay.
The welcome was very warm and we were able to settle in with minimum fuss. The rooms were good and quiet, with plenty of room. Breakfast was simple but exactly what we needed. We felt that nothing was too much trouble.

Excellent Staff, very helpful and Friendly!.
The hotel's popularity with its local clientele, while entirely understandable, does mean that resident guests are not always able to find a place in the car park. Not a huge problem, but awkward for those arriving with luggage.
Nothing to dislike.
Not enough staff on at breakfast and food quality at breakfast inconsistent.
Leaving to come home !.
Loved it all.
Perhaps a reserved parking spot as may be busy in Summer?.
Nothing.

Nothing. This hotel is brilliant.
Mattress a little too soft on beds.
Nothing.
not having more time to spend there!.
I liked it all.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Wifi availability was not obvious and how to connect but as it turned out I didn't need it on this occasion.
Nothing. Will certainly go back.
Was a it disappointed with the steak in the restaurant as it came way over done.
Our only criticism was that the bed was not the most comfortable that we have ever slept on. nor the most uncomfortable.
Nothing- a very comfortable stay!.
Noise from pub garden late at night.
Nothing we didn't like.
Very noisy after hours which didn't bother us but may have bothered some guests. Talking/laughing intl well after 1am.
Food was poor. Wine list was not what we are used to. Poor selection.
Nothing.
Hot water in En-suite basin was scaldingly hot.
The food lets this pub down. It serves acceptable pub grub, but given that there is nowhere really good in Bovey, the Cromwell Arms could up their game and really clean up if they wanted to. In the current economic climate they are just about 'good enough' but if things were to change they could lose out to a competitor who would only need to be slightly more ambitious.
Noise from other pubs in the town late at night/early in the morning.
Stairs a bit steep but help was available.
repair to garden seat comes to mind.
Breakfast was not the best. Food a bit greasy.
Very steep stairs.
