the location, the lounge, the reception ladies particularly and the whole experience. The people couldn't have been friendlier. Most people I spoke to didn't even know about the hotel and would have stayed there if they had known - Ease of access to Motorway if stopping off on the way to the Highlands. A wonderfull setting in a fantastic old Castle

We received a very friendly and helpful welcome, fairly late on a Saturday evening, when the hotel (and town) was very busy.
Throughout our brief stay the staff were excellent and the breakfast (the only meal we took) was very good. The dining room was very attractive too. -

I was travelling with my mother and stopped over on our way north.We received a very warm welcome from Sally and were shown to lovely rooms with fantastic views over the garden and hills. Great setting, spacious room & bathroom, very clean and nicely decorated. Fantastic breakfast and plenty to choose from the menu. Proprietors were more than helpful and were there to greet you when I turned up. Lovely touches in the bedroom like sweets, biscuits & coffee making facilities. Warm rooms and very comfortable bed.

From an extremely friendly welcome to a well appointed room to a superb breakfast, our stay was first class. Free parking at the door and right in the middle of town with lots of places to eat and drink, cannot be faulted.

Lesley& Paul were excellent hosts and were very friendly and helpful. Even though we wanted to leave early for the Open Championship all of the breakfast items were laid out for us - milk. orange juice in coolboxes, bread for toasting in cling film. Accommodation very clean, easy parking, moffat is a good venue.

Denise & Paul were wonderful hosts! The room was at the back and very quiet. Nice view of the back garden area. En-suite was spacious & the towel warming rack was a nice surprise. We stayed here as an overnight stop-off between the Isle of Skye and
London. The room was nicely furnished, the bed comfortable, the shower
powerful and the breakfast delicious. The owners are very welcoming,
pleasant and friendly. We were given useful information about local
walks, restaurants and pubs, and about Moffat itself. We thoroughly
recommend it.

Home from home, commanding views over Scotland's boarder country
this olde worlde Scottish town is right on the m74, but very peaceful
and with loads to do. The hotel is well appointed friendly to all and

The friendliness and sense of humour of the staff, the restaurant (really great food, not the usual English fried stuff, although they do serve a very good fish and chips), their initiative, although we didn't book it (not too sure when we would be back) they did keep a table for us in their restaurant for Saturday evening just in case we wanted to dine with them. Which, of course, we did!

Everywhere was so clean, cosy and comfortable. We felt valued by the friendly owners.The en-suite bathroom was large and had separate bath and shower facilities. Towels were beautifully soft. The hospitality tray was the best I have ever seen. Also the provision of a separate lounge for guests was a bonus. Breakfast was to die for-beautifully cook

Comfortable room with an excellent seperate sitting area. Facilities to make a variety of hot drinks with no limit imposed by limiting the amount of milk available. Good hearty breakfast. Near to A64(M) so able to break a long journey without having to go to far and not as soulless as a Travel Lodge.

Rockhill was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was also an obvious attention to detail that made a big difference compared to some places I have stayed. In all, a genuinely welcoming Guest House that was outstanding value for money. -
