The location was excellent. There was easy access in and out of the town and it was within walking distance to all the Ambleside attractions. It was an easy drive to Waterhead at the lake and the roads to various countryside attractions. There was a free car park (unusual for a B & B), free wifi that worked very well and a good breakfast included in the price. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed at elder grove for 3 nights and it was a wonderful weekend the hosts vicki and Paul are absolutely lovely the breakfast is fab and whenever we had a question they were always happy to help they also had brilliant maps for us to take out on our journeys which were very easy to follow Paul chose a walk for us as we weren't sure and it was perfect, I hope we weren't to much trouble because they will definitely be seeing us again infact I think my parents are now going next month on our r

will definetely be returning to ambleside and, 3 cambridge villas is top
of my bed and breakfast list. Also due to the bus stops being directly
behind the b and b, you dont have to worry about driving. You can
virtually jump on the bus and travel anywhere in the lake district

the hotel information booklet was excellent giving far more information than many hotels in large chains.All the staff were very pleasant and obliging-nothing was too much trouble. - The proximity to the town and shops were super. The car park was on site and the staff were pleasant and always available if needed but did not pressure us in any way.

The Twin room we stayed was spacious, clean and warm especially large shower room! The breakfast was cooked to perfection especially mushrooms, tomatoes :) David and Angie made us feel welcome and were very helpful when needed. Thank David told us the forecast everyday in order to help us how to plan our day if it rains .... Do enjoy the view from High sweden Bridge ! And Derenwater at Keswick !!! We booked two rooms as we visited with family from overseas. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodatingThey provided us with many tips on the area. My parents liked the place so much they went back to stay again a few days later. Perfect location and lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend Ambleside and this guesthouse!
