We spent 2 nights at Hotel Suisse, really enjoyed it and were sad to leave. The hotel has so much character and a happy and relaxed atmosphere. It is perfectly situated on lake Kandy within walking distance to the Tooth Temple. The staff are friendly and attentive. We had some lovely meals in the 2nd floor restaurant which is open all day. It is reasonably priced too. There was entertainment in the restaurant at dinner time on both nights. The first evening a man played the keyboard and sang an.
όλα τα σχόλια » We got in before check in time but it was no bother for the front staff. They very quickly had our room ready giving us to use the free wifi in the lobby, we were treated to an ice cold drink. Jehan went out of his way and this was reflected in the other staff members including the dining room staff. We wanted a room overlooking the pool and got it despite being busy with the esala festivities. The room was large, clean and the toilet was great. Big pool for a decent swim. Good location to walk into town but just far enough out to be away from the hustle and bustle. On the edge of the lake so good for a walk. Evening meal and breakfast were always buffet style which I don't always like but worked well enough. The place had colonial character and history. Staff were particularly friendly to us because we were not in a group and thus more chatty. Too noisy in the evening because of the marriage ceremonies in the restaurant that were every day. there was nothing to dislike. Limited wifi access. Nothing to dislike. The food was limited and poorly presented. Because there were package tours at the hotel, the breakfast was chaotic - the staff worked very hard, but no one was organising them. Nothing in particular. Except perhaps they could keep a little more choice of vegetarian food at the buffets. Breakfast not included in the price. Not having Internet in our room. Little expensive i thought, and they charged my credit card ... Even though it said pay in cash!. Expensive for value. not much amenities. Bed bugs in first room. Quickly allocated a new room and provided a free dinner. Would have been more customer focused to provide a night's accommodation at no charge. Delay of room service. Construction at rear of hotel. Paying for snooker table. no hot water in room. so many mosquitos in rooms in lobby. I hate bed bugs in the hotel. Monkeys on the balcony. since the building is very old, the room given to us was not so good, very basic, bed was not so comfort, moist smell, toilet was very rough, one can see the patches everywhere in toilets. Small public areas (where wifi is available). Dribbly shower. The mattress are very old and definitely needs to be replaced. Food and service if the staff specially F&B staff noise from outside and neighboring guest room. Repair work noise, misquote caused lack of sleep. poor rooms and facilities, no lift for forth floor, my mom (75YRS OLD) was forced to use staircase, breakfast is poor, old lobby.
