The facilities, room and situation are unbeatable. Overlooks east to the
Spanish (Hondaribbia) and French (Hendaye) towns. The owner / host
is a young enthusiastic, energetic, charming and helpful man...

Basque area. It is a bit hard to find. Set the sat nav to find the (also

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful house managed by very helpful and friendly owner. Comfortable furniture and beds (very wide single beds for our children). Pleasant sheets and blankets. A very warm welcome from our delightful hostess who speaks some English.
The roaring log fires in the guest sitting room,which were lit by her husband as it was cold outside the first two days we were there.

This was a very pleasant pension. We had a double and a single room for our daughter. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. It was quite well located with only a ten minute walk to the old town where we spent a lot of time. The coffee which is free was lovely. The location is very close to San Sebastian RENFE station. It is also couple of minute to the beach.
It is very clean and almost new since the owner just repaint the pension.
It is definetiley worth place to stay and if I am going to san sebastian, I will definitely come back to this pension

Beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean,this lovely small hotel deserves four stars rather than two. It was slightly difficult to find (sat-nav very helpful) but is a lovely peaceful rural retreat. It is set in vineyards and is on the eddge of the little town of Gaintza,which had great strategic significance in Napoleonic times.

Clean, quiet, with all the amenities and comforts on a hilltop above Getaria surrounded by vineyards.
The staff were polite and discreet and willing to help us even in small everyday difficulties of our journey.

Really beautiful and comfortable palace with the surrounding countryside providing the perfect setting. Only 30mins drive to San Sebastián. 45 mins to Bilboa. Everything was just great. Beautifully appointed and decorated hotel. Fabulous large bedroom. Staff were very professional, friendly and helpful.
Restaurant is outstanding. The chef - a charming guy - likes to meet his guests and talk about his dishes and the way he prepares them. The "black" fillet steak is brilliant!!

The owner was superlative in every way, trained in hospitality with a
wealth of experience and knowledge about how to run a hotel business. He
is smart, resourceful, really cared about his guests, and speaks English

We were travelling with our dogs and had a superb room overlooking the bay. The hotel is an old townhouse with loads of character. We had booked a space in their garage . . . Getaria old town is three beautiful old streets going along the narrow strip with the bay on one side and the calmer - again sandy larger bay with harbour for fishing fleet

Fabulous town, wonderful food, Hotel is built on a narrow ridge above the bay where you can watch the surfers from your room with a floor to ceiling glass wall. We chose the old style room with wooden shutters looking north with our own balcony and view of red tile roofs, the church bell tower and the ocean in the back ground. Just wonderful!!!! This is a superior hotel and staff; just sorry we were not staying much longer.

Ignacio and his wonderful "team" was a credit to this small friendly hotel,nothing was to much trouble,they looked after us splendidly ,even providing a superb meal,even though the restaurant was closed ( we arrived very late after driving 800 k!)

A perfect hotel, especially when travelling between Spain and France a very good solution.
Very good room, completely upgraded, good beds, clean bathroom, perfect shower.
Next morning we took a breakfast. Lot of choice, everything fresh and looked great.
We travel a lot and this is a hotel to remember for the next time!

Staff were extremely helpful. The receptionist provided detailed directions to us (would never have found the place with these!). Bicycles were provided to us free of charge. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and the entire facility is extremely clean. The walk into town is beautiful and less than 10 minutes. In addition, there is ample room to leave your vehicle.
