The location was excellent and nice, comfortable room with window. I
stayed in early March and the bed was warm enough at night with

The best possible location at a great price. 2 short blocks away from Plaza del Sol square and metro station. The street is very busy day and night and, although the room had two double-glazed windows, some noise could still be heard. Very clean, small bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Every so often a rumble from the subway can be heard, but

Excellent location - just two steps from Arenal street and two minutes
from Sol. Nevertheless very quiet. The room is small, but very clear.
English-speaking and helpful staff. Great value for money, good choice
for the city visit.

Location was great - just around the corner from Opera Metro station. Very, very clean and beds comfortable. We had a room at the back to no traffic noise at all. Staff friendly but only Spanish spoken. Felt very safe and secure so great for single travellers. Had breakfast at the vienna which was great (they have great sandwich selectio

Friendly reception just no english so a translation app will come in handy. Right in the middle off the city centre. A lot of sightseeing can be done on foot.

It's not a hotel in conventional way. I like the ambience and all the elegant deco with a home style. Quite and lots of privacy in good location like this is really extrodinary.
Very friendly staff provided good help on the train schedule and wifi in short/late time.
We met the hostress when leaving at the door and she was a nice lady!
Unique experience and strongly recommend to those people interested in culture.

Hostal Veracruz is very nice and has clean rooms with AC and own bathrooms. It is very close to Sol, so really in very center of Madrid and Spain. Everything is in walking distance or else the metro and cercanias are near by (at Sol). You are in the thick of the nightlife of Madrid and of the shopping center. I had a great stay in hostal Veracruz! The single room was good and very comfortable. Everything was also very clean and the staff was friendly. This is a fantastic place to stay when you need to move through the city and don't want to miss the ambiance of Madrid city centre!

Central location. Can walk to puerto del sol, plaza mayor areas. Then on the other side, can walk to museo del prado etc.
From the airport, take express bus to atocha then take the metro and stop at anton martin. the hostel is around 2-3 blocks from the anton martin metro station. Just follow the numbers. It has a small sign so look closely. If you see stores selling cloth and women's tailored dresses, you're near.
Jose was very helpful. Explaining all the sights and things to do.

I liked the location of the hotel as it was in the middle of Gran Via, opposite Callao Metro and approx. 3 minutes stroll from Gran Via Metro.
Both lines were what I needed access to for each trip I went on.
The room was very clean and the staff changed towels daily which was nice. -
