  The staff at Numancia, especially the man on the front desk the majority of the time are excellent. All our needs were met and any requests were willing to be accommodated including leaving our luggage there for a whole day (as our train trip was at night). Great asset to the place. Further to this, the location is great. Maybe 10 minute stroll to Plaza Del Sol. The room itself was perfectly adequate. Compact but comfortable.

  The personnel was very friendly, I was very sick during my stay and they took care of me, were speaking english and french very well. I will go back there with no doubt! The location is great, so close to metro and to la latina, plaza del sol, small fresh market... Just follow the numbers. It has a small sign so look closely. If you see stores selling cloth and women's tailored dresses, you're near. Jose was very helpful.   The hostal is great: the location, the room, the price, everything. I would really recommend it. The only problem is the fact the there is no elevator access to the 4th floor (even though the rooms in such floor are the newest and, consequently, the best ones).   Hostal Edreira was very clean. Our room was spacious but set up awkwardly. the bed was in front of the closet so you couldn't open the door easily. The staff was very friendly and nice although they weren't always easily available. It was a great location in easy walking distance of all the major sights in Madrid. The bathroom and toilet facilities were clean and tidy. The hostel was just next to the metro and was very convenient. Staff very friendly and helpful. Yes they do speak english.   Clean and comfortable room. Helpful staff. Excellent value for money. Its location near the pedestrianized area around the Plaza Mayor makes it very quiet.
