I usually stay at the Waterfront and only chose the Taj out of neccesity because everyone else was full with Argus bookings. I was very pleasantly surprised. The backpack was a really comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The common areas were laid back & relaxed and the place was very clean. It was my second time at this hostel and I came back three years later because I liked it. Apart from it being excellent for what is officially a backpackers place I really appreciate the attitude of owners and staff who are supporting community projects and take recycling seriously, something that is still not very wide spread in South Africa. Excellent Sandwiches and breakfast.

The location was great, lots of choices for dinning and shopping and centrally located so that made it easy to get out and about. the Waterfront was well sign posted for visitors unfamiliar with Cape Town so that was a huge plus when going out and then returning, we never got lost.... being on the harbour withthe excursions was a plus as well. We could not have been happier wioth our choice of hotel, and would stay there again should we visit.

Beautiful hotel in a great location (Literally 2 minutes walk and you're at the centre of the Q&A waterfront) staff were very friendly and helpful. You are allowed to use the other two hotels facilities - next door for the Dockhouse and their pool and Garden and down some steps for the Q&A hotel which is great for Breakfast as it has a muc

Blackheath Lodge provides a warm and comfortable atmosphere akin to being at home! It is pleasantly designed around a small, but extremely well cared for and pretty pool area. The breakfast choice is good - English or continental tea/coffee/biscuits are always available. The owner has an excellent relationships with his smiling and helpful staf

This was a delightful place to stay in a lovely tastefully furnished Victorian Lodge. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much to ask during our 4 day stay. The rooms were very comfortable with an excellent shower. Thank you to all the team that work there for making our stay so enjoyable!

From the minute we arrived the service was impecable our car was parked no fuss, we were early for the book in but were offered a complimentary beverage whilst waiting and the pleasant surprise we were upgraded to a larger famiy room

We were overnighting prior to a long flight the next day to Dubai/Kabul. This could not have been a nicer stay. Car parked, check in seamless, room very nice. Our view was an ocean view which was great. The convenience to the waterfront activities and shopping was excellent. Late night coffee and cake in front of the fireplace was superb. The breakfast buffet was possibly the best we have had, just fabulous. Staff were all on their game, excellent service.

Beautiful Guest house, lovely staff, amazing views, although it's not cheap it is very good value as you are given lots of fabulous little extras and the welcome high tea is delicious. Very highly recommended.
