The staff from Petra guest house were fantastic as they were helpful and understanding when I booked my sister and her daughter to stay there on their way to visit me in Dubai. They were like family, assisting and reassuring them because they experienced problems with a visa, sending mails to me and even send the transport with my sister"s purse to the airport when she forgot it in her room. Clean room, quiet location, helpful staff, pets. Nothing.
no heat in our room but they gave us a portable heater.
Breakfast buffet needed to be replenished - I had to keep making requests e.g. for bread to toast. Choice was also very limited. I also felt very uncomfortable with a plain glass window in the bathroom - had a net curtain but did not feel private.

Travelling information
On leaving OR Tambo International Airport, travel in the direction of Johannesburg (R24). Bypass the first off-ramp for M 59 - Barbara Road. Take the next off-ramp, M37 Edenvale Road / Edenvale. At the traffic lights, at the top of the off-ramp, turn right. Carry on straight straight through 2 sets of traffic lights, at the 3rd set of traffic lights turn right into 2nd Street. Carry on through 3 sets of traffic lights. Immediately after the 3rd sets of traffic lights, turn left at the next road, High Road. Carry on straight until you come to a stop sign. Petra Guest House is the 2nd entrance on your left, after the stop sign.
