Just in front of the scenic Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple, Wakamatsu Honten is a charming local property featuring large public baths and non-smoking Japanese-style rooms with free WiFi. A free shuttle is offered daily to/from Narita Station, upon advance reservation. The ryokan also houses a souvenir shop and coin-operated laundry facilities. Decorated in a traditional Japanese style, all rooms come with a futon bedding, a seating area and green tea sets. A flat-screen TV and personal safe are also included, as well as yukata robes. Bathrooms are either shared or private, depending on the room type booked. All rooms are non-smoking. Wakamatsu Honten is a 15-minute drive from Narita International Airport and an 8-minute drive from Aeon Mall Narita. The Museum of Aeronautical Sciences is a 20-minute drive away. It is a 50-minute drive from Tokyo Disney Resort. For breakfast, the property offers a Japanese set menu. A Kaiseki dinner (Japanese special set) is available with advance reservation, and can be enjoyed in the shared dining room or in guests' private room. Guests can relax at the indoor public baths, which are gender-separated and operate from 15:00 - 10:00 daily. Luggage can be stored at the front office. Free WiFi is available at the lobby, as well as in the rooms.

Its location away from the usual international tourist areas gave me a taste of the real Japan. To go out in the evening to walk up the narrow street and find a meal was an adventure in itself. Althugh the interior was a little tired the ambience was charming and the staff very accommodating - from carrying my bags and making tea to delivering me from and to the station. Traditional room with lovely view of shrine in old part of Narita City. Close to train stop. Quiet, tatami mat room(s) very simple and serene. Spacious for Japanese accommodations. Lovely traditional breakfast served in room at precise time ordered.

To use the property's free shuttle, please make a reservation at time of booking. The shuttle is available from Narita Station between 15:00 and 18:00. It's available from the hotel between 08:00 and 10:00. Please note, the property's shuttle is not available from 1 January until 31 January every year due to traffic regulations. Dinner is served from 18:00 until 19:00. Breakfast is served from 07:30 until 08:30. Please note that all rooms are non-smoking.
