Just a 1-minute walk from JR Momodani Train Station, the completely non-smoking Bonsai Guest House has a rooftop bonsai garden, a shared-use kitchen and free Wi-Fi throughout. Private and dormitory rooms are offered, all with shared bathrooms.
The air-conditioned rooms at Guest House Bonsai have a lime-green colour theme and spare, modern furnishings. Guests sleep on Japanese-style futon bedding, which is thinner than a mattress. Toilets are shared and linens are provided.
The lively Dotonbori area is about a 20-minute journey by train and on foot. Osaka Castle Park is just 7 minutes away by train.
The lobby features a hardwood floor and floor-to-ceiling windows, and has a free-use internet station and a TV. A coin launderette is on site, and bicycles can be rented.
No meals are served.

The staff is friendly and helpful with fluent English. Also, I like their lounge and kitchen in the second floor, good places to relax and chat with other travelers.
Excellent English, extremely close to Momodani Station, shampoo and bathing gel provided.

the hotel is litteraly under momodani station.
so close that you can hear jingles from the platforms.

There was a great atmoshere in the common room of this youth hostel.
There are not many places for shopping or sight-seeing around the neighborhood. Would need to walk a little bit to the subway station if you do not prefer to take the JR line.

not much space for luggage in the triple room.
there isn't a real bathroom, but washbasins in corridor, and you can't have a shower at the first floor from midnight to 8PM.
you also can't use hairdryer in your room and use it from midnight to 8PM or you have to pay a penaltly.
the structure is clean, but very very cold;
the atmosphere is not lively.
It wasn't as nice or clean as other places we stayed for the same budget. We found the pictures of the rooms and the descriptions on letsbookhotel.com to be misleading. Our three bed room looked nothing like the picture of it and the provided linens are even more misleading. Each mattress was covered by a sheet and had a cushion like pillow with the only other linen being a very thing towel like blanket.
