Surrounded by lush mountains in Minakami, Tenjin Lodge is just a 5-minute walk from Tenjindaira Snow Resort Ropeway and JR Doai Station. Activities like rafting, hiking and canoeing can be enjoyed in the area. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the public space. Lodge Tenjin is a 20-minute drive from JR Minakami Station, and free pick-up shuttles are available when requested at time of booking. Okutone Snow Park is a 10-minute drive away, while Houdaiji Ski Resort is within a 20-minute drive. Japanese-style rooms come with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, while guests in carpeted rooms sleep on Western beds. A private toilet is included in each room and bathroom is shared with other guests. The property offers bicycle rentals and free luggage/ski equipment storage services. There is a common lounge area where guests can unwind watching TV or use internet PCs. Ski passes and equipment rentals can be arranged at the property, and staff provide advise about the area. Guests with a dinner plan can have homemade Western or Asian meals at Lazy Bear Restaurant. Roast dishes or Korean hot-pot meal can be requested at an extra charge. friendly english and other language speaking staff, rooms with balcony on waterfall/river natural sounds and forest outside, location just below ropeway to good hiking trails on steep ridges (great views), and staff helpful in arranging transport to onsen in next valley; I heard that backcountry snowboarding on nearby mountain slopes is the best in Jan/Feb. Great hospitality. Great location - beautiful scenery and close to many outdoor activities. Kieren is a great host, he did his utmost to make me feel welcome and make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Will definitely stay there again when I'm next in the area.
