1) The gardens and pool area were fabulous and spotlessly maintained. 2) The hotel itself is beautiful and, again, spotless. 3) Our room was elegant and nicely furnished. It was a bit small (and we requested a sea view and didn't get one) but it was comfortable and had mod cons in working order. 4) Breakfast was excellent and it was great to sit outside with a view of the sea. 5) The view and the surrounding area are stunning, we loved the crickets singing all day. 6) Maratea is a pretty town .

We can not wait to return as this truly is a wonderful place. They have gone over the top - you made our stay a very memorable one - thank you!. Beautiful extensive grounds, lovely gardens set out with care, many places to sit in comfort in shade and enjoy surroundings.. Hotel itself furnished with care. Staff pleasant and helpful. Hotel organises transport to local beach as direct access to sea from hotel unsuitable for children or disabled. Great secluded and quiet location. Nice sea view from room. Beautiful garden with swimmingpool and nice relax-area. Breakfast buffet was very extensive, staff very attentive. Wish we had more time to spend.. The hotel is in a beautiful location in its own grounds. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean and the breakfast has a really good choice. Absolute gem, I paid nothing for what it was worth. In a beautiful pinewood, you need a car to get there (ever if they have shuttles). As much beauty as the Amalfi Coast but without the crowds of people. Very relaxing and lovely grounds. Beautiful area, fabulous flowers, so peaceful. Friendly helpful staff and clean rooms. Everything was amazing. Location, personnel, service, breakfast, view!. Fruit was not as fresh as you would expect. Staff were very helpful but had no English at all. We did communicate via Google translate. the setting was wonderful hence the name. 1) They don't have evening meals and it is 20 minutes to Maratea with no bus/taxi option so it wasn't possible to go into town for dinner and a bottle of wine, driving was necessary. 2) The staff didn't speak English, which was not a problem for us and was good for our limited Italian, but some travellers might find this difficult. 3) The swarms of wasps at breakfast were off-putting. We didn't get to stay longer. It was a very sad day when we had to leave. A bit isolated, no restaurant, so driving necessary for evening meals. car is very helpful to get around. The hotel does not have a restaurant in the evenings and staff appeared to be not very well informed about good restaurants nearby. We were told that we had a sea view room, it was not and they refused to move us to one with a view. =) there is nothing to NOT like at Hotel delle Meraviglie. Warm water only in shower a major issue. Driveway down to hotel is challenging, one for good drivers only. It was a B&B. It is such a loveoly place I would have loved to have evening meals there overlooking the beautiful gardens and the sea. Didn't serve dinner, room quite small. Very little English spoken and not one person at reception could understand what you were looking for, so looking for information re area or what was on in the area was impossible, With this have to say the staff were very friendly and helped where possible. Not enough waterpressure in the shower in the 2nd floor. Also not enough warm water. No wifi in the room. The room is old fashioned. No help with the luggage to the 2nd floor, for us no problem. It is isolated. The reception was not very friendly. This place could be perfect, but all these small things didn't make our stay not that special. We had a car. Absolutely necessary because the hotel is not near a town. No dinner served at hotel so a problem if you have no car. Bedroom was ok. Lighting very poor. In order to read in the evening we had to go to the lounge. No tea making facilities. Toiletries very poor. .One small bottle of shampoo and one of shower gel. Definitely not value for money at 200 euros a night. mattress too hard. they do not have a restaurant so it is needed a car and getting out to eat. restaurants are at driving distance and not walking.
