The hotel is located in a nice area of Rome, across the Tiber river (Trastevere). The hotel was a stopover on our way to Civitavechia to board a cruise. We flew into Rome airport and it was simple to catch a train to Trastavere, where we would need to change for Civitavechia. Absolutely everything! It surpassed our expectations. We had a lovely room with a cozy sitting area. The breakfast was such a fantastic assortment of foods. The staff were so friendly and heplful; recommendations on where to eat, etc. It added to our visit to Rome. Would definitely stay there again.

Our host Roberto, his wife and the staff were welcoming and took extra
care of our needs. We booked two single rooms and sometimes in the past
we have been allocated tiny, substandard rooms. The rooms at the Celio
were charming, clean and the location between the Colosseo and Laterano
was fabulous. This was the first time we have ventured out of the
Trevi/Tritone area. (We go to Rome each year over past 15 years and

We visited Rome as the first stop on our honeymoon. Our flight from the
us was canceled so we missed the first night and arrived to Rome early
in the morning. The sweet lady at the front desk could not have been

Location is great, right in the heart of Trastevere....yet it is so quiet inside the house that one could think this is not in Rome. The staff were so knowledgeable about how to get around the city in the

The hotel was clean and I particularly liked the bathroom with heated
towel bars. The staff were very friendly. We only talked to them in
Italian, so I'm not sure if they can serve tourists in English. They
answered any questions we had about transportation and sold us tickets
for the city bus (which can't always be purchased on-board).
Breakfast was your typical continental breakfast-style, but ingredients
were fresh.
