Its location is near to the national park area so it is convenient to base ourselves here. The reception is not in the same block as the apartment with ensuite bathrooms although we didn't have much problem finding our way as we had our GPS. The apartment block was very well maintained, the shared kicthen and dining area are well stocked and spacious enough. A comfortable stay.
Loved the facility and decor, bright clean and colorful. Quiet. The communal kitchen was a fun place to eat, so many different languages being spoken and foods being prepared. I wish we booked at more hostels on this trip of 12 days.The receptionist spoke 5 different languages- pretty darn impressive all the way around.όλα τα σχόλια »
The apartment was roomy, comfortable, and very clean. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the apartments to others, especially those who want to get away from the city, take a magnificent whale watching tour, or see the aurora borealis.
Grundarfjordur is the most adorable, quaint, remote, beautiful place that my wife and I stayed in Iceland, and Grundarfjordur Hostel was perfect for anyone wanting to stay in the area. It was comfortable, affordable, and the landscape was utterly gorgeous.
Great location and brand new facility. The only way our apartment (for family of 5) could have been better is if we had a view of the sea rather than the warehouses. The apartment was furnished very tastefully with Ikea everything. Very spacious.

Wonderful location! Our room (they have three properties) was right next to the ocean. The six person dorm was very spacious and colorful. The kitchen was well equipped. Overall the atmosphere was very nice.
New and modern apartment, clean and tidy with lots of space. Located on the harbour front with easy parking. Good supermarket, cafe, and lovely hotdogs avaliable from the hotdog van - all nearby!.
A little out of the way but no issue with a car. In a quiet end of town. We were recommended a spot to watch the aurora and it was the most beautiful we have seen for the trip! Thank you!.
It was a lovely place to stay. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and beds. It is perfectly clean. Excellent money and quality value. I can recommend this hotel for other travelers.
Very cute and clean cottages with a great view outside. They are very small, especially if you are 4 (which wasn't our case), but we really liked our stay there.

The room was clean with colourful furniture. The hostel kitchen offered good equipment and a nice sea view. The location is a good starting point for a trip round Snaefellsnes.

A double room has two single beds rather than a double, which we are used to. It was not a big deal; it was still very nice.
There was nothing we didn't like! Grundarfjordur Hostel exactly met our needs.

The bathroom shower was completely clogged, and the mirror stayed foggy for a very long time after someone showered (there was no bathroom fan). The room had a humidity issue and kindof smelled like a fishtank even though we kept the windows open.
Fence restricted what would otherwise have been an outstanding view!.
No hair dryer.

Draining board and rack were dirty and old dirty dish washing sponge left which made us want to wash all crockery before using it. Shower curtain could do with a wash. Apartment otherwise was lovely and clean so it was a shame about these two issues as it would have been perfect otherwise. Blackout blinds are needed here as well. Some noise from vehicles as apartments are located by warehouses.
