The host of the Kalmar is Eztar she is friendly and creates a wonderful atmosphere for visitors with her intimate knowlege of Hungarian culture. The breakfast in the morning is another highlight. - We had a wonderful stay at Kalmar Pensio. It is a beautiful 120 year old mansion comverted into a Pension in an excellent location. It is very near the Chain Bridge in Budapest, right behind the Gellert Baths and so easily accessible to all major sightseeing venues yet in a residential area. The Manager, Ester made us very welcome and was very informative and helpful. We had a huge room with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden and a huge bathroom! What more could you ask for?!

  I simply loved this hotel. The innkeeper Victor is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just a couple of minutes away from Fishermans Bastion - a beautiful Place where you can sit in the evening with a fantastic view, a glass of Tokajer and a live-band playing violin-Music. And you also have just a few minutes down to the metro. A warni... τι λέει ο κόσμος » ng though: There are many steps from the metro to the hotel. Franklin Utca is just a long staircase. SO IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH HEART, LUNGS OR - This place is great! The owner, Viktor, is a very nice guy and was extremely helpful. We arrived late in the evening and he arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport. The Budavar Pension is clean, quiet and is in an excellent location, very close to the Fisherman's Bastion, Buda Castle and is only a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Chain Bridge. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

  Excellent!!!! High standard in everything! I strongly reccomand as a holiday destination. - We stayed at triple room which was spacious enough.

  Friendly Staff. Family run (at least looked like). Good location if you look for something near Industrial Areas. Quiet location. No traffic noise - cheap accomodation, near the highway and near to Budapest, relatively clean. Lady at the desk speaks a little German so basic communication was possible, which can be sometimes quite hard in Hungary.... τι λέει ο κόσμος » You can pay in Euros or Forints. Cold and cheap beer at the bar!
