During our stay we have been most towns of the island and Vatera turn out to be the best place for this purpose. Beach is no more than 20 m from the front door of - The very friendly, personal and helpful welcome and approach by the owners/managers, Jenny and Takis. They gave advice and had plenty of ideas about things to do and see, and made phone calls on our behalf and helped collect lost baggage, when the airline wouldn't help. The hotel's location right by the sea is blissfully peaceful and tranquil. There are no tourist crowds. Nearby there is a nature reserve with birdlife and more.
