The staff was very friendly and very helpful with directions. Location was excellent: 3 closeby train stations and very central, beside Alster lake, closeby touristy spots. Excellent location near to station, art gallery, and shopping areas. Short walk to Town Hall square and lake. Very helpful staff at reception. Seuss penthouse suite which was superb and excellent value. Can't really fault the hotel except the design of

Excellent location, very close to train station and many restaurants...just a few steps to the lovely lake area. It's close to shopping and sights, too, and if you're not too burdened with luggage, you can walk from the cruise center (we did, with 50-pound bags). The staff were as you would expect for one of the leading hotels of the world. The knew me by name and i was welcomed and looked after at every turn. my room was comfortable and spacious everyhing was luxurious and special. Shame to be alone and on business .would have made a great romantic trip. location excellent. energy clinic was excellent. The

This is an older German gasthäus so it is what it is. However, you would
be hard put to find a modern hotel as clean as this place. It was
spotless. My room, #21, was very quiet and comfortable. I also felt very
safe in the area. There is a smell that is apparent when the room is
shut up for a while, but again, not because of lack of cleanliness.

I've stayed here numerous times, love the central location near the main train station and the happening street nearby with cafes, bars and restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. Never tried the breakfast as I usually go to one of the nearby cafes or bakeries due to sleeping in. It's always my first choice to stay here. Free wifi. Some rooms have no bathroom, so you need to make sure what you're after...

I really enjoyed staying in this very nice old hotel in an original old building which has been nicely renovated. The reception area, breakfast rooms as well as the public areas have nice original old furniture without lacking any modern conveniences. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. They make you feel you are their personal guest. I

1. staff - more than excellent, felt like visiting distant relatives.
2. great breakfast.
I asked for a ketchup and they offered me a "bavarian mustard" (which is in general not included in breakfast). The mustard was great and they gave it to me the next day without asking.
