Chateau Bouvet Ladubay is actually a very large mansion. The concept is
to let some rooms to guests. So it is not like a traditional hotel where
you can call room service. It is more like you are staying at a
friend's house. In this case, that friend is Bruno, a very helpful
and knowledgeable host. He is happy to get you a reservation in local
restaurants or give you any kind of information about historic sites
around the chateau. But if you don't need him he is not intrusive or

The owner Bruno was very helpful during our stay at these amazing castle. The rooms were fantastic and huge. When it was very warm during our stay in Saumur the swimming pool was great. The castle is located just outside Saumur and it's easy to get into saumur which is a very nice town for shopping and have a lot of restaurants. The gates to the castle is also looked at nights so it feels really safe to have the car there.
This was our overnight stay between Mont Saint Michel and beginning our
chateau tour of Villandry and Azay Le Rideau. What a wonderful stop!
Chateau was beautiful and in keeping with the period while still
providing modern comforts. Friendly, helpful staff on site. We would
have liked to spend more time exploring Saumur as well. Beautiful town
with many amenities.

The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. He booked some excellent (and sensibly priced!) restaurants for us as well as giving great advice of which local attractions to visit!

The hotel is beautiful, historical, and well appointed. The owner is
very accommodating. The location is highly convenient for visiting wine
tasting rooms and not too far, by car, from downtown Saumur and also the
equestrian center.

A little too far from the main hub of the town. Needs clean, comfortable chairs in the garden. Pool cover was on all the time so couldn't just pop in it.
