We did eventually not stay at this hotel. At the day of our arrival we received a text message from the hotel that our room has had water damage that night. The staff had already made arrangements to book us in another (more expensive) hotel for the night and did not charge us for the extra cost. We considered this very good service under the circumstances. Great situation alongside the town square in St Mere Eglise, a pivotal town in the story of the D-Day landings; generous welcome from our hosts, who spoke good English; good sized rooms; a fine continental breakfast served in a ground-floor conservatory around an 8-seater table where guests interact with one another; private parking in the courtyard.
