  Afraid to end up in a smudgy small sized noisy french hotel with bored personnel, this was complete opposite: of course the room was a bit small, just like the beds (I'm almost 2m), but don't go to France if you don't want that.   After reading some reviews, I was a bit sceptical about this hotel. But after staying there for 3 nights, I should say I did enjoy my stay here. Simple, no frills hotel. The guy at the reception was friendly and speaks English well. Really helpful guy, didn't manage to catch his name though.   Staff very friendly - The room and ensuite were newly refurbished in an interesting arty style and bright colours, which I liked. The room seemed so new, as if I was the first person to stay in it! Hopefully it will age well. The hotel is in a sidestreet, so not too much traffic noise, but very convenient for Gare du Nord.

  Helpful staff - This room was immaculate in terms of cleanliness, basic but fully functional furniture, excellent location. A very old building and my room had character. Plenty of lighting and the bed was very comfortable.
